Topics Covered
The topics covered in this course continue on from SBI 3U. You will continue your investigation of how cells work and produce energy. You will also look at genetics in more depth, focusing on translation and transcription of DNA. You will also examine how DNA is used in various fields from agriculture to talk shows!
In this course you will look at the urinary system, the endocrine system, the nervous system, and the immune system. All of these contribute to the over all well being of an organism, a process we refer to as HOMEOSTASIS.
Finally we will look at two of the more controversial topics in biology in recent history: Population and Evolution. These topics make biology the more 'social' of the natural sciences.
