Putting Your Playbook to Work

Now that you have completed your playbook, you will use them to run a practice and play in a tournament.

Practice:

  • Look through your playbook and be sure that your teammates set up in the same manner as the play you have chosen.

  • Know what pattern you are running as you will be evaluated on whether or not you run the play according to the playbook.

  • Try everyone’s play and allow for more than one quarterback.

  • Work during your practice time.

HINT: For the tournament, find the plays that work the best or that you are comfortable with and put them in a sequence. When game time comes, you will know in which order to run your plays and everyone will be prepared.

Tournament:

  • Each team will play four games (two each day).

  • Teacher will evaluate you on how precise you run your plays according to the playbook.

Players set up in the correct position
Players run the correct passing routes

  • Teacher will hold playbooks and give them to your teams between plays as you huddle so all team members know what play you are running and what their responsibility is.

  • HAVE FUN!!

  • SPORTSMANSHIP and CHARACTER
