Sole Survivors!
July 16, 2006 A lot went down last night at Survival of the Sickest...some expected and some unexpected. To start things off, Regina would reveal Willis Clayton's mystery opponent...or should I say "opponents"...for his Hardcore Championship defense: The Chosen! Willis Clayton would lose the title to Olaf in a four-on-one match, then suffer a fractured right arm at the hands of Larry Thompson! Fans were also shocked to see the return of W. William Suhgs as he confronted the Grappler Wrestler backstage in an odd segment. In the first survival match A.W.A. fans witnessed the Folk's last bout. The rumors are true...Jingles, Jigsaw, and Gutter have retired. The A.W.A. wishes them a happy and fulfilling retirement and we want them to know that they will be greatly missed. The team of Pros n' Cons and the B.F.F.'s fell short when two of their opponents were revealed to be none other than the returning Glitz & Glamour!

Team Youngblood was able to overcome the Best when Griffin Youngblood and Arkham fought to a double countout, leaving Rory Blaze as the sole survivor! In the main event, the Zaniacs found themselves one man short of a team, so Josh McCool and Billy Sadistic were able to recruit the Barracuda himself, W. Williams Suhgs. The match started off extremely horrible for the Zaniacs as McCool was the first man eliminated. Suhgs would go down next, followed immediately by Sadistic. Zane was left to defeat the Chosen alone...and nearly did! After eliminating Revilation, Thompson, and Olaf single-handedly, Zane could almost taste the Heavyweight Championship. There was only one thing that stood in his way...Kris Kartier. And Billy Sadistic. In a shocking twist, Billy Sadistic turned on his former teammate and handed the match to Kris Kartier on a silver platter. With the Phenom aligned with the Chosen, they seem like an unstoppable juggernaut. Who will be able to stop the Chosen? Tune in this Saturday to find out.

Name: Kris Kartier
Alias: "The Main Event"
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 236 lbs.
Finisher: Karta-Hajime
Hometown: Asbury Park, NJ
Recent Accomplishments: The man. The champion. The king of the mountain that nobody can seem to knock off. He may not be the biggest, the fastest, the strongest, or the most physically gifted, but he might well be the smartest. It doesn't matter who he faces. When the night is over, it's Kris Kartier that walks out Heavyweight Champion. He just finds ways to win and it's as simple as that. At Survival of the Sickest, Kartier was once again able to thwart Brian Zane. This Saturday at Riptide, the Main Event will be in attendence. There are rumors that the Z-Man may show up as well. But with Zane's rematch clause fulfilled, who will receive the next shot at Kartier's Heavyweight Championship? I've got a feeling we'll find out at Riptide...
