UNDERSTANDING THE MATRIX

What is the Matrix?  The matrix for starters is a movie trilogy that was released into theaters in March of 1999, with parts 2 &3 released in May and November of 2003.  

The Matrix has become one of my all time favorite movies.  It's a very entertaining movie with tons of top notch special effects.  My liking of the matrix is for plot, the information and how the information fits in with the entertainment. 

                                                  WHAT IS THE MATRIX ABOUT?

The plot deals with humanity being taken over by Artifical Integellent Machines.  A small group of  humans have been in a battle against the machines to reclaim earth and reality.  The Machines have destroyed the real world, and created a similuation of the real world that only exist in the minds of those who are plugged into the Matrix.  The matrix is the name of the simulated world.  Those who have not been freed from the Matrix, believes everything they see, do, touch and feel is real.  There remains one human city where the Machines haven't conqured.  This city is located deep underground and is called by the name of Zion.  Those who are freed or unplugged from the Matrix, reside in the city of Zion.  This is what the movie is about in short.

The matrix is a movie FILLED WITH symbolism.  This was the first thing I notice upon my first viewing.  The symbolic meaning of Characters and plot's immediately let me know the person who created this movie, has some understanding.  In today's Hollywood, many movies secretly Use  symbolism that speaks about biblical topics.  What I've notice about those movies and the matrix is this. 

 The truth in the matrix has nothing to do with doctrine of any religious organization.  The matrix has symbolic and hidden messages that come directly from the scriptures.  In most movies today with biblical themes are told from the Christian perspective of scripture.  Movies such as THE PROPHECY, CONSTAINTE, END OF DAYS  are heavily influence by Christianity.

Not so with the Matrix. In this lesson / article I will examine a few concepts within the original matrix movie.  That gives you a Visual of some of the deeper meanings of scripture.  By deeper I mean those things which is not known by the Billions of bible scholars and readers.

Before we get into the lesson, I have to bring out some recent developments concerning the writing of the Movie.

When I first watched the Matrix, one of the things that stuck out to me was, the amount of Hebrew (black) Characters in key roles.  Then once I view the symbolism with understanding, I said to myself and others.  "THIS MOVIE HAD TO BE WRITTEN BY A BLACK PERSON WITH UNDERSTANDING OF SCRIPTURES". 

Within the last couple of years, information has come forth that indeed a Hebrew Sister is the original author of the Matrix.  Her name is Sophia Steward (pictured), she is a writer. She is also known as the Mother of the Matrix

In an Interview she gave in 2004, she stated that the Matrix has some deep concepts, which she studied for years.  This sister knows some deep things.  Here is an excerpt from the interview.

Playahata.com: Well, the Wachowski brothers have yet to answer your lawyers legal challenges and since they don’t do interviews regarding The Matrix you pretty much have free reign until the trial starts?

Sophia Stewart: This idea that they don’t do interviews is crazy, when have you ever heard of such a thing, This is one of the hottest movies of all time and they just don’t want to talk about it. They can’t talk about what they don’t understand, these high concepts that I have laid out which came from years of study

Sophia Stewart: When you read "The Third Eye", you will see it's all one story. You have to understand I am very subtle with the way I write, I work on the subliminal

Once I show you the hidden meanings of the Matrix, it won't be a stretch, the author of the movie says there are deeper meanings with in it.  Now let's see what the Matrix is telling us.

I choose to do this lesson, because I've notice and others have to.  That I often mention this movie when I'm doing lessons.  I don't think there has been any lesson I did at our Chicago Shabbat Class where I haven't mention something about the Matrix in one form or another.  We are a visual people, we have to see things visually to believe it.  The matrix is a great visual expression of some scriptural truth.  Don't think this is a waste of time, it's not.  Learn how to read the signs around you, pay attention.

                                         CAST OF CHARACTERS 
                    (The Two major Characters in the Matrix actually have a dual meaning associated with them, we will explore the good and the bad of these Character)

MORPHEUS - The Good.  He Represents A Father Figure, Righteous Israelite           Leader.  In the Evil he Represents Nimrod.
NEO - Represents a hearer of the truth who leaves all for the sake of truth.  In the Evil he Represents the anti-messiah / Son of Nimrod, THE ONE who would come before Yahoshua makes his second appearance.
TRINITY - MOTHER GODDESS.
ORACLE - The word of Prophecy, and Wisdom
TANK & DOZIER - Represents righteous Israelite Soliders
Cypher - Traditor, One who falls away from the truth, Judas type.
AGENTS - Represents Demons, Evil  soliders of the System.

                                               CONCEPTS OF THE MATRIX

1. THE ISRAELITES ARE A BLACK SKINNED PEOPLE. GENUINE CHILD OF ZION.

SCENE - Neo Is meeting the Operator Tank for the First time.

Tank - I'm tank, I'll be your operator
Neo - You don't have any....
Tank - Holes? Nope me and My brother Dozier are 100% pure old fashion home grown Humans born free in the real world.  GENUINE CHILD OF ZION.

Tank and his brother Dozier are black, and Tank said they are Genuine Children of Zion. In this movie as will be explained in futher detail.  The City of Zion was the last human city, it was protected from the machines (the wilderness).

In scripture Zion is one of the names for the Children of Israel.  

Isaiyah 49:14 But Zion said, YAH  hath forsaken me, and my Master hath forgotten me.

Psalms 149:2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 

Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in YAH your Mighty One: ..........................

Scriptures shows us without doubt, Zion was a name for the Israelites. Genuine means "ORIGINAL AND REAL" .  When Tank tells Neo him and his brother who are both black are Genuine (Original, Real) Children of Zion.  He is saying they are  Original True Israelites.

Tank didn't say he was an original ZION -ITE because he was born in that city, No he was born in the real world, Outside of Zion.  He was born a natural Israelie.

2. THE CITY OF ZION, THE WILDERNESS, PLACE OF SAFETY.

SCENE - CONTINUED FROM THE ABOVE SCENE.

Neo - Zion?
Tank - If the war was over tomorrow Zion would be the place where the Party would be.
Neo -  It's a City?
Tank - The Last human city, the only place we have left.
Neo -  Where is it?
Tank - Deep Underground.

The hidden city of Zion, spoken of in the Matrix is actually what's called the Wilderness in scripture.  The city of Zion was the last human city, it was a place of safety that was protected against the Machines.   Those who were freed from the Matrix lived in the city of Zion.

The wilderness spoken of in scripture is a truth, that not many know about or understand.   There will soon come a time on earth where Satan will be cast to the earth realm forever.  When this happen, he will make a great war against those Israelites and righteous Gentiles who keep the Commandments of Yah and have the Testimony of Yahoshua (Messianic Hebrews).

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
The woman represents the True Hebrew Israelites, the man child represents Yahoshua the messiah

Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

The Wilderness is a place Yah the most high has created, to protect his people during the time of Satan's wrath.  Satan will be unable to reach those people in the wilderness.  The wilderness will be the place of refuge from the war Satan will make against the righteous israelite believers in Messiah.  In the Matrix the city of Zion was the place of refuge from the war against the wicked Machines.

In the matrix it's not by any chance or coincidence that the place of safety is called Zion.  As we just discussed, this was one of the names of the Children of Israel.  It was also the name of a Mount and name for the land of Israel.

In the second Matrix movie, they showed the inside of the city of Zion.  One of the first things  I notice was the city was heavily populated with Hebrews (blacks).  This was also noted by film critic Roger Ebert.  This is what he said about the city of Zion in his review of the Matrix Reloaded (part 2).

"I became aware, during the film, that a majority of the major characters were played by African Americans. Neo and Trinity are white, and so is Agent Smith, but consider Morpheus; his superior Commander Lock (Harry Lennix); the beautiful and deadly Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith), who once loved Morpheus and now is with Lock, although she explains enigmatically that some things never change; the programmer Link (Harold Perrineau); Link's wife, Zee (Nona Gaye), who has the obligatory scene where she complains he's away from home too much, and the Oracle (the late Gloria Foster, very portentous). From what we can see of the extras, the population of Zion is largely black."

The reason the city of Zion was  largely black, is because it's showing you who the true Israelites are, then it's showing you what Scripture says about the wilderness.  Roger Ebert goes on to say;

"The Wachowski brothers use so many African Americans, I suspect, not for their box-office appeal, because the Matrix is the star of the movie, and not because they are good actors (which they are), but because to the white teenagers who are the primary audience for this movie, African-Americans embody a cool, a cachet, an authenticy."

Authenitcity also means REAL and Genuine, there is a deeper meaning and reason for the use of so many Hebrews in this movie.  Roger Ebert can sense something is here  but he can't get a full hold of it,  because he doesn't have eyes to see it.

In the wilderness Yah will nourish and protect Israel. 

Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

The Prophets  Isaiah and Ezekiel speaks of this nourishment and protection in the wilderness.

Isaiah 35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of YAH, and the excellency of our Mighty One.

10 And the ransomed of YAH shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. 

Ezekiel 34:25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.

As I stated the wilderness is not a subject, many bible readers have an understanding of.  With that being one of the hidden messages within this movie, lets us know somebody with some knowledge of this, wrote the matrix.  To read more about the wilderness and what scripture has to say about it read the lesson INTO THE WILDERNESS.

3.  FREEING THE MINDS OF THOSE IN THE MATRIX BY THE ONES OUTSIDE OF ZION, THE WILDERNESS.


Scripture is clear that when Satan begins the war against the true Israelites, not all Israel will make it to the wilderness, many will be "left behind".  This is who Morpheus and the crew of his ship the Nebuchaznezzar represents.  They are those who are outside of the place of safety and outside of the Matrix.

They are the ones left behind to free the minds of those still plugged into the false system.  The ones who don't make it to the place of safety (wilderness) will feel the fullness of Satan war.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of YAH, and have the testimony of YAHOSHUA THE MESSIAH. 

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Morpheus and crew was at war with the false system called the Matrix.  This  war was fought for the minds of the people

The prophet Daniel speaks about this same time period mention in Revelation 12 & 13.  He tells us about the brethren left behind to teach and free the minds of the people.

Dan 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know YAH shall be strong, and do exploits.

33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

 The war that will take place against the adversary in these last days, was shown to you in the Matrix.  All the way down to the fact, the war will be a gureilla war. Morpheus and crew came into the matrix, to free the minds and go.  They didn't stay around, it was hit and run.  Those righteous Hebrews, who don't make the wilderness will have to hide, and come out only to instruct / teach those who are in the false system (Matrix).  

4. HARD TO BELIEVE AND ACCEPT THE TRUTH
                             

SCENE - Morpheus is explaining to Neo what the Matrix is

MORPHEUS - What is the matrix? The matrix is a computer generated dream world, that turns humans into batteries.
NEO - No, No, I don't believe it, it's not possible
MORPHEUS - I didn't say it would be easy Neo. I just said it would be the truth.
NEO - Stop Let me out, I want out........

Coming out of decades of darkness and into the light can be very hard for many to accept.  Even after being shown what the truth is, it takes a moment for it to sink in.  After being  told what the matrix was neo had a hard time believing the only world he knew, the only world he could see, was not real.  

For many of us, learning or being told and shown, Jesus is not GOD, Sunday is not the proper day of worship, we can't eat pork, or catfish, Christianity is not true, we are not gentiles,   Was hard to accept but the #1 shocker for many coming into the truth is, THE ISRAELITES ARE AND WERE A BLACK PEOPLE, AND THE BLACK PEOPLE OF THE WEST ARE DESCENDANTS OF THEM.

The truth is such a big change from the lie, it can be hard to accept.  We see this within the matrix.  The truth is a hard pill to swallow. 

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it see him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwell with you, and shall be in you.

5. CAN'T GO BACK AFTER COMING INTO THE TRUTH

NEO - I can't go back can I?
MORPHEUS - NO, but if you could would you really want to?

Sometimes the truth can appear so overwhelming that many would prefer to go back to the way they were.  But you can't.  It's impossible to come into the knowledge of Yah and Yahoshua and continue to live your life of ignorance. In the beginning of your walk, some of the old ways are hard to get rid of.  It's pain for many, but when you begin to see more of the truth, and when  begin to get a greater understanding then, the though of turning back is lucricus.  In the matrix as Neo began to learn more of the truth, the stronger he became.  The more we learn about Yah, the stronger we should become.  Once we have the full understanding of YAH, there should be no turning back.  

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

6. The False System And Those Who Will Die To Stay Attach to it.

Scene - Morpheus is taking neo through a computer generated version of the matrix. 

MORPHEUS - The matrix is a system Neo that system is our enemy.  When You're inside you look around what do you see? Business men, teachers, lawyers, carpenters, the very minds of the people we are trying to save.  But until we do these PEOPLE ARE STILL APART OF THAT SYSTEM, AND THAT MAKES THEM OUR ENEMIES.  You have to understand most of those people are not ready to be unplugged.  And many of them are hopelessly depended on the system, that they will fight to protect it.  

Whew Morpheus said a mouthful,  We are living in a system that is false.  THE POLITICAL, EDUCATIONAL, RELIGIOUS, and JUSTICE system are not based on the laws of truth.  Everything in this present system is based on a lie.  Our mission is to free the minds of the people, to bring them out of the wicked system.  Morpheus said those who are a part of the system will fight to keep the ways of the system or Keep the  status quo going.  Morpheus hit a bulls eye right here, People are so afraid of the truth, they will fight to keep it hidden.  This is the reason all the prophets and Messiah was killed.   Today we are so dependant on the system, that we believe it is the only thing we have, for most of us it is the only thing we know.  Many people today are helpless without the system.  Prime example, in August of 2005, when Hurricane Katrina came through New Orleans.
