Hey folks, This is my first attempt at a webpage! Whoo hoo! And now a little about me: My name is Andrea, I'm 17 years old, I live in Florida, and I'm odd. But that's ok, who isn't? But all that is boring, I think I'll mimick one of my fav authors with: 20 THINGS YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT ME 1) My fav authors are Libba Bray, Sherryl Jordan, and Christopher Paolini. 2) My fav books are, (in order) Winter of Fire, Rebel Angels, A Great and Terrible Beauty, Elvenbane, Eragon, The Iron Ring, East, and Cut 3) Right now I'm reading Eldest (sequel to Eragon). Pretty good. 4) I just finshing my first Novel! It's called Riding Dragons (as of now) 5) My fav band is Boston (weird but true) 6) I love animals. I have two dogs, (Fido and Nova) One cat, (Ybab) Two mice, (Tinsle and Tippy) two birds, (Elvis and Persilla) A goldfish, (Ichorous) and, like 9 rabbits. (I wont bother listing them) 7) I'm terrified of moths. 8) I can't dance 9) But I like to sing 10) I have a weakness for cartoons, especially Spongebob 11) I've been told I'm a little immature 12) I can't list my times tables 13) I hate Mexican food 14) I'm a chocoholic 15) I'm teased at school for never ever uttering a cuss word 16) I was homeschooled until 10th grade, then my mom gave in and sent me to public school. 17) Public school is a terrible influence on me 18) I hate fads, they irritate me to no end 19) I have a really bad temper 20) And most importantly, Jesus is my one and only Savior That's it! The Title Of My Book: (at the moment) Riding Dragons This story is about a normal, teenage girl whose life changes in one angry moment. Annalisa McCartney never wanted to go on the camping trip she, her parents, and two younger brothers were going on. She felt she should get to choose, like her older brother, an AirForce pilot. Anna's parenst tries desperatly to get her to join in on the fun, but Anna was stubborn and selfish. And after a blowout with her father, Anna runs away into the unforgiving forest. In the meantime, far, far away on an island in the middle of the pacific, lies the last clan of Dragons. The Dragons were pushed away by humans generations ago, and now live in hiding. But because of a food shortage, The leader, Kragan, must send his second in command, Kalila, to the human world in search of food. Through a series of events, these two worlds collide as Kalila betrays Dragons laws in order to save Anna and help her find her way home. The two become fast friends, but before Anna can get home, two Dragons scouts, looking for Kalila, learn of Anna and demand she be killed! Kalila's only choice to save Anna is to take her to the island to be judged by Kragan, which ends in the ruling that Anna must remain on Dragons island forever, never to see humans again. Anna is angered at her fate, and hates herself for letting it happen, but things lighten up when she meets Kalila's son, Alarr. Anna and Alarr create a strong, unbreakable bond. At first, Anna is rejected and hated by the colony, but soon she is making both valuable friends and feirce enemies by the Dragons. Such is the beginning of a fantastic adventure. Anna grows from child to woman, and learns about life, love, and family, all the while developing a harsh love for her island prison and captors. It isn't long before it is up to Anna to save the world from the wrath of evil Dragons, and ultimately choose between her human family, and her new Dragon family. Can Anna do what is necessary to become the hero within? Find out if I can get this thing published!
January 1, 2009 Something happens in everyone’s life that changes their life forever. Whether it be graduation, the birth of your first-born child, or something less fortunate. No one ever knows when this thing will happen, but good or bad, we learn to move on. As a teenager, we have a future that we expect. Not that we don’t wish to achieve greatness, or rock the world, most of us have a realistic expectation. Go to school, than to college, get a high-paying job, and eventually get married and start a family. And of course, hope that somewhere in the middle climb a mountain, become an astronaut, write a book, and change the world. Unfortunately, we can’t all be astronauts. But often there is someone, someone who grows a hundred years in a day, comes outside of herself, and inadvertently changes the lives of everyone around her. So is the story of me, not that I’m trying brag. I was a girl-turned-woman whose entire life changed in one angry moment. I guess I know now that in the end, the life you choose may not be the one you expected... This is the prologue to my book, you people tell me if you like it!
