Eating Right Is Key

It's okay to eat fat! When done correctly, you will get fit by eating fat. Our
minds have been trained to think that fat makes us fat, this is not
necessarily true. Let me explain...

Make sure that when you eat meat or dairy products, you consider these as a sort of
topping or side dish. They should not be the main dish. Your daily serving of meat should
never exceed the size of a softball, approximately three to six ounces.

Also, there are choices that you can make in the meat department that are lower in fat.
Try eating lunch meat that has reduced fat content, it tastes the same, really! Some of the
low-fat options that you have to choose from are chicken (white meat), and turkey, if you
remove the skin. You should always look for reduced-fat in all dairy products from cheese
to milk and especially butter. I recommend "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter."

Remember to stay away from anything that has been altered from it's natural state.
Hydrogenated fats have no reason for being in your body and should be completely
removed from your daily intake. The more obvious bad guys are cake, doughnuts, muffins,
Crisco or any other shortening, countless types of chips and popcorn, cinnamon rolls, and
pancakes. Pretty much anything that has been boxed or packaged is not healthy, try to eat
minimal amounts if necessary.

Eating right is a win-win situation. It helps me to keep my models healthy and alive, and
helps you reach your physical potential. Saturated fats as discussed in the first
informational paragraph, are positively correlated with cancer, strokes, heart disease, as
well as obesity. When you add fats which are known as Omega fats into your diet, as a
man, it has been shown to dramatically improve sex drive, just a little extra bonus.

What are Omega fats? There are three types of Omega fats; Omega-3, Omega-6, and
Omega-9. The best of the best is Omega-3! This should be the majority of the fat that you
provide your body. When this is your primary fat source, the body uses all of it. I mean
there is literally nothing left after the brain and cell membranes take their share, thus you
have nothing to be stored as body fat. Foods that are a good source of this type of fat are;
corn, fresh flax (linseed), pumpkin seed, soy, and walnuts. If you replace butter and salad
dressings with flax oil, you will be much happier!

Overall, protein can really help you to reach any goal in weight loss, which will reveal any
underlying muscle tone that maybe you haven't seen in a while, or ever. If you don't allow
your body to get enough protein, it will actually begin to consume it's own protein, such as
lean muscle. This will also slow down your metabolism, which is not good!

It may seem complicated, but once you have a routine, you will be fine! As with fats,
proteins can be bad too. A few good choices are egg whites, beans, fish, and tofu, to
name a few.

Everyone thinks they know the real story about carbs, but they can help you to get lean.
There are simple and complex carbohydrates. Stay away from simple carbohydrates,
sounds easy enough, right? When you do not eat foods that increase insulin levels, and
you maintain balanced levels, more of a hormone which helps to unlock stored body fat is
available for use. Simple carbs increase insulin levels.

Not many people realize that having milk is not all that great for you. Yes, it is an excellent
source of calcium, but many adults lack the enzyme which is required to properly digest
the sugar that is in the milk. There is also a protein in milk, called casein, which is a
known cause of asthma and other sinus problems. This protein has been shown to cause
an autoimmune reaction that can destroy insulin-producing cells in your pancreas. What
does this mean? Well, it can cause what is known as juvenile diabetes. Calcium can be
found in numerous green plants, and also fortified juices. If you are not aware of any
serious allergies, hay fever, or any sinus conditions that you may have, it may be
acceptable for you to drink milk in moderation, as mentioned above, as a side dish.

This is definitely not brand new information, but vegetables are extraordinary! They are
very high in oxygen and water, which increases your metabolism drastically. The amount
of fiber that they contain helps to make you feel more full. If you do enjoy eating
vegetables, go ahead, you can eat as many as you want and not gain any excess body
fat. This really helps when you first start out on a new pattern of eating, sometimes you
can feel extremely hungry when you cut down on the amount of food that you are used
to.

Finally, let's talk about fruits. I guess we are playing myth-busters today. Fruits are
supposed to be good for you, however, if you are trying to lose a little weight, this is not
true. It is good for you in other ways, so you should never just cut it out completely, but
again, moderation is important here. The body breaks down fruits very quickly which
greatly increases your levels of insulin. As we saw earlier, this is not helpful. If fruit is
something that you thoroughly enjoy, try having a small serving in the morning and
another small serving later in the day so that you can have it more often, but not too much
of it.

There a couple of tricks that I have learned that will cease any binge eating. Most cravings
only last about ten or fifteen minutes, if you feel a craving coming on, go and brush your
teeth. Absolutely nothing tastes good when you have just brushed your teeth. Even if you
do go and eat what it is that you are craving, you will probably only have a bite or two
and be disgusted. Another helpful hint is to eat a dill pickle, they are much better for you
than chocolate chip cookies, but again, nothing tastes any good after you eat a pickle,
honestly! Drinking a glass of water will make you feel full also, so that way if you do give
in to your craving, you won't end up eating much. I hope this helps!

In summary, you can have fat, just make sure that it is good for you. They
can help to suppress your appetite when incorporated correctly. You can
also raise your metabolic rate this way, which in turn will allow you to
burn an increased amount of body fat. I hope this helps you to understand
the complicated issues regarding fats, if you have any questions, please
ask and I will make sure to get you an answer and post it on the site, it
will also help in case someone else has the same concern.
