Engine Removal

Here's the old 383 being pulled. Because I use an electric fan setup and no shroud or fan on the engine, I was able to pull it straight up and out without too much disassembly.

The Removal Process

Hood
Drain oil
Drain water
upper & lower radiator hoses
heater hoses
headers & exhaust pipes
oil sending unit
temp sending unit
power steering pump/reservoir from block
Alternator and wire to firewall

Starter wire
Choke wire
Throttle cable
Brake vacuum line
TH350 vacuum line
TH350 kickdown cable
Flexplate cover
Torque converter to flexplate bolts
Fuel line from tank (at pump)
TH350 bell housing to engine block bolts (support tranny)
Motor mount bolts
