Hello everyone, sorry I havn't been updating the site quite as regularly in the past week or so. I have been getting ready for a trip to Europe which I will be leaving for on Thursday the 20th. You should still be able to reach me with e-mail assuming I can find a good internet cafe in Italy. This will be the last update for the next 2 weeks

A Plan For Peace

Peaceniks:

With war imminent, keep in mind the plans we made weeks ago:

On the day war breaks out,

6:00 pm Candlelight Vigil for Peace, City Hall Square, Waupaca (People for Peace sponsored).

7:00 pm Ecumenical Prayer Service for Peace, First United Methodist Church, corner of 8th and Demarest, Waupaca (1 block from the hospital). (This is being sponsored by area churches brought together by Paul Nulton).

Please try to get the word out on these events since they will not have been publicized.

Regardless of war, we will have our usual 6:30 vigil on Thursday on the square. If war happens that day, we will just move the time up to 6:00pm (so those who wish to go to the prayer service will have time). Please put a light in your window for peace.

It is important that we keep our focus on peace as our president turns toward war. Discussion of this event, even in our small communities, could be polarizing. Can we rise above our feelings of fear, anger, frustration? Where does our role as patriotic dissenters take us in future months? Think about it for our next meeting, 3/26 at the library in Waupaca.

Peace,

Megan Karth

Does France and its leader Jacques Chirac Deserve any of our country's horrible prejudices or cruel jokes? Chirac is one of the few leaders speaking out loudly for no American war in Iraq?

E-mail Chirac telling him not all Americans have this unfair prejudice and that we support him in standing firm.http://www.elysee.fr/ang/ecrire/mail_.htm
