The education in Peru is a very important issue, and it starts at home. The kids start going to school at 5 years old; they go to the kindergarten for one year. After they finish kindergarten, they are able to go to a primary school, private or public, for 6 years. Most of the kids finish their primary school at 11 or 12 years old.
At age of 11 or 12, the students go to a high school for 5 years. There they learn math, geography, philosophy, music, art, chemistry, languages, Spanish, Peruvian history, universal history, civics, and sports. After the students complete their high school, they can apply to some public, private college or university.
