As a child I lived through the blitz and bombing of London in World War Two. In 1954 I was called up for National Service. I signed on as a regular soldier and served in the Canal Zone, Egypt, then in Cyprus during the EOKA terrorist campaign 1955/57. I have written a book about my experiences entitled ONE SCORE YEAR AND TWO.
