HUARAZ TOUR PROGRAM  2 Days / 1 Night

Night departure to Huaraz on local bus line.

Day 01
Transfer from the bus station to the Hotel.
Continental Breakfast.
Tour to the Lagoon of Llanganuco (3,850 mts.), located at 86 kms., from Huaraz, in the sector of Llanganuco in the National Park Huascarán, surrounded by exotic vegetation and high mountains covered by snow, such as the majestic Huascarán y Huandoy.
This area has two lagoons Chinancocha and Orconcocha, whose names mean female lagoon and male lagoon respectively. Both are of an exceptional beauty, of turquoise green waters whose margins have totorales and impressive forests of Quenuales, are adorned by a singular variety of plants and animals.
In the journey you will visit, Carhuaz located 34 kms. from the city of Huaraz, and located at the foot of the snowy Hualcan, surrounded by a countryside where a beautiful yellow green shade prevails, coming from the numerous retamas, that surround its cultivation fields.
Continuing to Yungay, 58 kms. from the city of Huaraz, , taking a small visit to the Holy Field, where you will be able to observe some palm trees were once it stood the Main Square of the city, which was covered by an avalanche of ice and rock as consequence of the earthquake of 1970. There is also a part of the cemetery that had 5 platforms, of which two were buried; it was built in a small hill on an archaeological monument in whose top there is an enormous sphinx of the Christ of Yungay.
From this point you will ascend to the Lagoon of Llanganuco, that is 25 kms from Yungay, after a visit the tour bus will descend to return to Yungay to continue to the town of Caraz for lunch (Not included).
Caraz, is located in a picturesque place of hills and mountains, 67 kms. north of Huaraz. The climate is pleasant. Their traditional urban structure can be still seen, after the earthquake of 1970.
After lunch, return to Huaraz.
Transfer to the Hotel.

Day 02 
Continental Breakfast
Trip to the Archaeological Center of Chavín of Huantar, located in the town of Chavín (3,100 mts.), where you will visit the Square Plaza, the Choquechinchay, the Doorway of the Falcons, The Lanzón of Chavín and the system of underground galleries as the Labyrinths, the Double Bracket, etc.
In the itinerary you will see other towns such as Recuay, 27 kms. south of Huaraz; Catac, 36 kms. from Huaraz, entrance town to the Alley of Conchucos, where you will head toward the east with direction to the Cordillera Blanca Mountain range, where there will be a small stop to visit the lagoon of Querococha (3,800 mts.) to enjoy the landscape. Continuing to the Tunnel of Cahuish (4,500 mts.) from where you will descend to the area of Conchucos, going by the towns of Machac, Quercos and finally arriving to the town of Chavín.
Lunch (Not included).
After lunch you will continue with the visit to the archaeological center of Chavín, duration approx. 2 hours.
Return to Huaraz.
Transfer to the Hotel to pick up the baggage.
Transfer to the bus station, to continue to Lima.
