This is a Tiger Shrike (Juvenile). Size 19cm (7.5 inches). Juveniles and
first winter birds lack black eyeline. It has bold barrings on
upperparts and underparts. Originating from East Russia, N China and
Japan, it is a winter migrant to South-East Asia, Bali, Philippines.

It is found from low elevation to 800 m. and less common than Brown
Shrike. It likes the forest edges but this bird was nowhere near the
forest but in a residential neighbourhood.
