Long-tailed Shrike
(Lanius schach) Size
10 inches (25 cm). Long tail and white wing
patch diagnostic. Crown and back
grey as in picture. Broad black eyeline and wings,
throat and belly white and
the flanks is tawny in colour. It is an uncommon resident here
in Malaysia at
low elevation and is found in scrubs and open country.
Typically of
shrikes, it will perch on branches and poles and drop to the ground to catch an
insect.
