Common Sandpiper (Tringa hypoleucos). Size 20 cm.
White eyering, plain brown olive upperparts with slight whitish
supercilium. Underparts white. White shoulder patch diagnostic. Found in
lowland habitats such as marshes, rice fields, rivers and drained
fishponds.

This was shot near my home. The bird was just standing on a rock in the
middle of the relatively fast flowing river.
