LOCATION
In the east side flank of the Cordillera Blanca, on the Conchucos Valley in the department of Ancash, aprox. 110 kms. from Huaraz.
ALTITUDE
The town of Chavin is at 3,100 mts. above sea level.

CLIMATE
Most of the year is lukewarm. In summer (December to March) is the rainy season with sunny mornings and in winter (June to September) during the day, its warm and at night, cold.

By Land:

The Doorway of the Falcons

Located in the Gallery of the Lanzon, principal Oracle of the Chavin Culture.
The Stone Head
The only stone head, in its original location on the wall. At the Local Museum, you can see more of them.
