Prose

(All poems are my own work.)

There once was a handsome young cavy

Who joined the guinea pig navy

He looked really cute

In his smart sailor suit

And he sailed in a boat meant for gravy.

There was a young Abby named Claire

Who hated her unruly hair

She said with a frown

"It just won't stay down"

"It looks like I've had a big scare!"

There was a very pretty cavy named Flora,

With whom Jack fell in love when he saw her.

He said "Please be mine"

"You're a lady most fine"

That young piggy did completely adore her.

There once was a piggy named Zane,

Who was expert at flying a plane.

He could fly low or high,

Would soar through the sky,

And his loops were extremely insane.

I know a young cavy from Wales,

Who's eye for a bargain never fails.

She'll search all the stores,

Without time for a pause...

And never misses the January sales.

There was a young piggy from France,

Who longed to learn how to dance.

He practiced the tango,

The waltz and fandango.

And even gave Irish dancing a chance.

There was a cute cavy from Stroud,

Who couldn't help being houseproud.

She'd clean all day,

Have no time for play,

Amd whilst dusting she would sing aloud.

There was an old piggy from Poole,

Who thought it funny to play an April fool.

He rigged lots of jokes,

On poor unsuspecting folks,

Which was really quite terribly cruel!

There was a sweet cavy named Jack,

A roan abyssinian of red, white and black.

Whatever his need,

I do it with speed.

To control me, yeah, he's got the knack!
