Jack was a good lad and ate all his supper last night, but he's still quiet and miserable today.  So far he's had 15mls of feed and 10mls of water/probiotic.  I think he may be getting a bit of hair growing on his belly but I'm not too sure yet.

We took Jack back to the CCT today along with Ruby and Amber as Ruby needed her teeth checking again.  When we arrived Jack was seen and they still think he has Cushings Disease (I'm not sure who to believe now) and he's been put on a course of Neomarcazole.  Then Ruby had her teeth trimmed.  After that, we came back home.  I only managed to give Jack one 15ml feed and 10mls of water/probiotic today. :/

Jack ate all of his supper again last night.  This morning he's been in his food bowl and has been eating hay from the rack.  He seems a bit more active at the moment.

Jack ate all his veggies last night.  I gave him a 15ml feed and 16mls of water/probiotic.  His poops were still ok.  We weighed him and he was down to 870g. :O  I think it's because of the diarrhoea - I think the reason Jack had gained a lot of weight quickly and had the diarrhoea is because food must have been sat fermenting in his stomach and yesterday it finally came out in the form of a very bad diarrhoea.  It would explain why it started and stopped so quickly. I think that's why his weight has dropped back to about where it was before.  His tummy has been less bloated today and he has been a bit perkier.    At 2pm I gave Jack a bit of a run around and he did a lot of running about.  At half two he had another 15ml feed and 17mls of water/probiotic.

Jack ate his supper again last night.  He was still miserable and very tubby this morning.  After I finished cleaning out Jack I noticed that he had bad diarrhoea. :(  It came on really suddenly.  I quickly gave him kaolin and morphine and just as I'd done that my mum popped over  and as I was in a panic she rang a different branch of the vets we tried to find yesterday and we got an appointment for about 12pm.  We arrived and Jack was examined, the vet brought her boss in to have a look at Jack and he said that he could have an hormonal problem, but didn't think it would be Cushings.....he checked his gums and said that he wasn't anaemic.  The skin problem was too symmetrical to possibly be mites and seemed more like alopecia.  They put Jack on a course of Baytril and Bio Lapis probiotic.  We have to take him back in a week to see the skin specialist.  Jack had done a lot of sloppy poo in his travel cage and I was impressed  that the vet went and cleaned it up for us.  We then came home and after I cleaned out Bailey (while I was cleaning him out Jack keeled over and I was terrified that he was dying but when I checked on him he stood up again and seemed ok, he even had a nibble on some cucumber.  I'm hoping that he had just nodded off)  I gave Jack a 15ml feed and 20mls of water/probiotic.  I then let him have a bit of floortime as his tummy was very gurgly and gassy.  He didn't seem too bad at that point.

His poops suddenly firmed up at about half past six.  I gave him another 15ml feed and 10mls of water/probiotic.

Jack ate all his supper again last night.  This morning he looked very poorly.  I gave him 15mls of feed and 15mls of water.  I then gave him a bit of salad and let him have a run around and he perked up a bit.  We took him over the road with us again and whilst there he ate 3 lettuce leaves, we came back and had a trial run to see if we could find a veterinary practice that I'd seen online that said it had a special interest in piggies and rabbits.  When we got there it had a different name over the door so we don't know if it is the same practice.  So we came home and I gave Jack some cucumber, salad and carrot.

Jack had another 15ml feed and 10mls of water.

Jack ate all of his supper last night.  He's very miserable and tubby again today. :(  I just don't know what to do for him.  So far he's had 30mls of feed and 20mls of fluid.  We've weighed him and he's up to 924grams.

We decided to ring the CCT and managed to get an appointment for 4pm.  When we arrived Jack was seen and examined and they think that he may have Cushings Disease, but they're not sure whether it's an overactive or underactive thyroid.  Jack had an injection (can't remember what) and we have to take him back to the CCT on Wednesday.  We came home and I gave Jack another 15ml feed and 10mls of water.  He's still very miserable and tubby. :(
