San Pedro de Casta Peru is a small village at 3 kms. from Markawasi and 80 kms. from Lima Peru. Includes Markawsi program in a tour or camping.
The weather in Peru changes according to the altitud. San Pedro de Casta has cold weather and semitropical. Also has changes, hot during the day and cold at night.
HISTORY OF SAN PEDRO DE CASTA
This region has a rich historical past in Peru, it was formed by this old tribes, the Carashatos, afterwards the Wari's, man of great size that maybe were the ones to carve the stones of Markawasi and to end the Varayoq, that lived there before the Incas. The town of San Pedro De Casta was founded aprox. in 1571, by the Real Ordenanza of the Viceroy Toledo. Electrolima S.A. contributed to the construction of the road and the Autisha bridge in 1961. By 1969 the town receives the title of Comunidad Campesina.
PRINCIPAL PLACES TO SEE
EL MIRADOR. It's in the highest part of San Pedro de Casta, were you can see all the Santa Eulalia Valley.
QUEBRADA CALLULA. Nice place to take a small trek up to the Malca hill, crossing the farmlands of the community.
MARKAWASI. A plateau located 3 kms. from the town that can be reached in 3 hours. This place has diferent rock formations and energy spots.
