The Stone Roses

The Stone Roses were the best band in the world, coming from Manchester in the late 80's. They ejaculated their fist album "The Stone Roses" in 1989 which was a colarge of soulful and mesmerising dreamscapes from beginning to end. Their second album "Second Coming" was not the same Stone Roses we saw in "The Stone Roses" but still high grade psychedelic rock.

This Stone Roses page has samples off the "Second Coming".

Blondie

From the late 70's to early 90's Blondie (named after Hitler's dog which was apparently much more plesant and interesting than Hitler himself) were a new-wave band from New York headed by the talented and blonde Deborah Harry. They produced a distinctive sound which varied from the touching "Sunday Girl" to the skin head shagging aggression of "atomic".

Buzzcocks

The Buzzucocks are a punk band from Manchester. Playing humorous punk with squeaky guitars they produced tracks like the cheeky "orgasm addict" and the desperate "ever fallen in love (with someone you shouldn't have)?". They formed in 1977 then split up in the 80's. In 1993-94 they reformed with much of their original vigour.

Mama Cass

I believe the late Cass Elliot had one of the most powerful and uplifting voices around and she put it to bloody good use. From her time in The Mamas and The Papas she gave us sunny summer tunes like "Creeque Alley" and "California Dreaming", and of course the knee weakening "Dream a little dream of me".

Solo as Mama Cass 3 she gave birth to the chord striking "It's getting better", the soft and cuddly "welcome to the world" not forgetting the hope inspiring "make your own kind of music".
