I am Simon Turega, I am 23 years old and I live in Stockport (near Manchester) England

This year on June 27^th, 2000 I graduated from the University of Manchester reciveing the degree of Master of Chemistry being placed in the Second Class, Division One. This was like one of the most scary moments of my life but also one of the most happy.

I am very passionate about my science so it was natural for me to want to continue my studies and do a PhD. It was not easy to get a PhD studentship but I got one, working with the "physical organic" group I wanted, for the next three years I will be researching "tunnelling contributions to reactivity in hydride shifts and transfers". This is an absolute dream come true, it is the ideal project for me as it will involve a fair bit of interesting synthetic chemistry, the taking of meausrements of interesting reactions and the possibility of using BIG FAT computers to model theses reactions.

I am a great fan of films and movies , I have a favorite movie page about some of my favorite movies.

Gardening is a passion off my I try to spend as much time as possible in my garden. I also work as a gardener when short of money. So I have devoted a page to my garden.

Music plays an important part of my life so I have a Tunes page to expose a little bit of the music I enjoy.
