### WeyrHall ###

Kayjay giggles. "I could get you some cookies for the milk? And what is the hearth story?"

Leonette grabs a sweetroll and starts munching, occasionally sipping her juice, she nods after Kayjay's question. She'd almost forgotten.

Tolas shrugs, "Aithne might enjoy telling it better, since she was there for the whole thing..." he suggests.

"I don't think I knew." Aithne notes before offering Temari a wave..."You sure you want to hear this?...Tolas or Alianna may tell it better.'

Temari wanders in and collects some klah, then drifts over to where the other are and sits down, "Oh, is it story time?"

Alianne doesn't offer anything on this subject. For once, she's more than happy to listen to what other people have to say. Mystique seems to have drifted off by now. Which is a good thing. "What? I wasn't there for the whole thing," she protests, "No. You tell them."

Leonette sighs, and says, "Just /someone/ tell it!"

Kayjay agrees with Leonette. "Tell it, someone!

Tolas looks at Leo, then goes ahead, Aithne obviously being to embarassed. "Well, it starts with Aithne and Jeren painting pictures, right Aithne? Or was it when C'ley walked in on you two drawing pictures?"

Aithne nods her head quickly, "And Alianne" She notes for accuracy.

Temari nods, then asks, "Pictures of what?"

Ali does pipe in, after all. "It was when C'ley walked in, right after I came in, hi--err, just after I walked in." she says, nodding.

"A scene...with two stick figues..one of me of one of Jeren." Aith supplies then nods at Tolas 'Sorry.'

Kayjay blinks. "Stick figures in ashes? Interesting. And what were they doing?"

Tolas shakes his head, "No worries, you were there. Anyways, C'ley made the comment about how they must like eachother, 'cause well I mean, it's obvious 'cause well I mean look at them they well I mean drawing pictures cause well I mean its obvious that they like eachother.' " What an imitation of C'ley.

Leonette blinks. "Oh...uh, stick figures?" she blinks again. "How could you tell who was who?" she says...not even thinking to ask what they were doing.

Leonette laughs! "Oh /Tolas!/" she says. "You don't have to repeat it /exactly/!" "Labels" Aith supplies. "Jeren drew the one of me...and I drew the one of him."

Kayjay giggles. "C'ley would be honoured, Tolas."

Temari giggles at Tolas' C'ley impersonation, "Repeating exactly might take all night to repeat," she agrees.

Leonette laughs as Aithne answers her. "Oh!"

Alianne rolls her eyes a bit, though she does grin. Besides that, she looks to be fading from the world of the awake.

Kayjay mutters to Temari, "... and... made... are..."

Kayjay whispers ""C'ley and I have made up and are friends again.""

Aithne giggles at Temari,'Exactly.'

Tolas grins and takes a bow from his seat, nearly knocking off the plate again. "Anyways, that started all the other candidates into commenting, and you know how /they/ are..."

Temari smiles at Kayjay in reply, then her attention is recaught by the story. Kayjay giggles and then says dryly. "No.. tell me, how are they, Tolas?"

Leonette rolls her eyes, and in a mock-whisper, she says, "I know a 'rider whose worse!" then gets an innocent look. Did /she/ say that? Naw...must've been the ghosts...

Tolas sends a look over to Leo, but answers Kayjay, "Well, someone made the comment about protecting Aithne. Jeren didn't take that too well. All a big misunderstanding really."

Alianne giggles a bit. "Kovayir was..really misunderstanding it all." she comments, with a yawn.

Leonette totally misses Tolas' look...or seems to. She giggles, "Kovayir is very...protective..."

Temari looks from one person to another, then finally back to Tolas, "What happened then?" she asks him.

Kayjay purses her lips. "Isn't it funny? The biggest flirts are often the ones who protect the most as well?"

Aithne sips her juice as she just listens...enjoying it from this perspective.

Alianne grins slightly over to Kayjay, offering a slow nod before yawning again.

Tolas chuckles at Kayjay, "Well, everyone got a little on edge, some people were taking things literally, so we had a nice, conversation. It ended with most people saying that they shouldn't have to take this and they could leave, or something like that. Right Aithne?"

Kayjay snorts.

Leonette nods at Kayjay, "Yes..." then laughs as she hears Tolas.

Aithne nods her head..."Jeren did end up leaving.'

Temari frowns slightly, "Leave what? The hall or the weyr?"

Tolas adds in quickly, "Hall. No one would leave the weyr for that reason."

Alianne yawns one last time. And that's it. "It's been great, everyone," she starts off, holding yet another yawn off, "but I think I'd best go to my cot, before I fall asleep." she says. At this, she gives Kayjay a slightly puzzled look, but stands. Mystique is taken up, and the candidate starts towards the doors.

Aithne glances over to smile,'Night Ali...Sleep well...If Mystique will let you.'"

Tolas waves at Ali, "Get some sleep. And hope that 'lizard doesn't attack me in my sleep. I might get upset."

Alianne cants her gaze over her shoulder, grinning a bit. "Let's hope so." At Tolas's addendum, she hmms, looking down at the green in her hands. "Maybe I should tie her up," she quips.

Temari chuckles, "I don't know what's worse, the noise of snoring candidates or hungrily creeling 'lizards."

Tolas chuckles at Alianne, "I dunno, might make her scream even louder."

Kayjay looks at Alianne innocently. "Nice night, huh?"

Aithne snickers at Temari...then winces, 'That would be painful'

Alianne stops once again, turning back. "Yeah, tis. Not raining.." Apparently. She trails off, thoughts of sleep, rain and just the Weyr in general the probably topics of her mind whirl. "I better get to sleep, Kayjay, everyone else." And with that, she's gone, green firelizard under one arm, a puzzled look overwhelming her expresion.

Alianne strides over to the Courtyard.

Tolas stares after Alianne, the turns back to Kayjay. "That pretty much covers it I think."

Kayjay grins. "So just a lot of teasing going on?"

Temari smiles, "Sounds like hearth clearing was much more interesting than usual anyway."

Kayjay giggles. "I remember once as a candidate...." She blinks. "Oh. That story can wait."

Tolas nods at Temari and Kayjay, "Yeah. No, tell it Kayjay, that was my story for tonight." OF course he has more, but that can wait.

Aithne nods her head in agreement with Tolas..."Please?'

Kayjay sips at her wine. "No, no.. you go ahead."

Leonette looks over at Kayjay, "Oh, I wanna hear!" she says, looking very interested. Tolas snorts at Kayjay, "Nope, you go first. You mentioned it, that was a mistake. Now you must pay for it," he adds with a grin. T

Temari grins and suggests, "How about Kayjay tells a story, then Tolas tells another one?"

Kayjay waves her hand. "It is good for you as a group to know each other better. Share amongst yourselves."

Tolas dismisses that with a wave of his hand, "Nope, we have lived together already. Your turn." My my, being pushy? MUst be that age thing.

Leonette looks over at Kayjay, "But I'd much rather hear your story..." as soon as she says it, she give Tolas an appologetic look...but it /is/ the truth.

Kayjay hmms, looking around the room and then looks at the others. "Well, no one told you this, right?"

"But you are part of the group, Kayjay" Aithne points out, "No maatter what" Temari blinks, "Told us what?" she asks innocently, then grins again.

Kayjay sighs softy. "I am afraid not, Aithne.. but anyhow." She chuckles. "There was a certain candidate in my clutch who had this habit of getting into hair raising adventures. She just did.." She winks at Temari, seeing if she can guess who she is talking about."Well, one day, I was working on hearth detail and I was mighty dirty, soot covered, ashes all over me. I like to get into my work." She chuckles, sipping at her wine.

Aithne giggles as she glances at Temari and Leo. "not unlike some other people" Leonette giggles, as she was about to say exactly the same thing!

Temari smiles sweetly, "Not like anyone in this clutch then?" she says blandly. Tolas snorts, because he's not one to talk either.

Kayjay shakes her head. "No. not at all." She continues. "Well this person had repair detail and there had been a brawl in the hall the night before, involving a few drunken greenriders. There were a lot of chairs to take care of, let me tell you. I stood to hand her the glue, and accidently spilled ashes onto her hair.. which made her put her hands over her head for protection and there was glue on those hands..which stuck to her hair and..well..."

Leonette laughs! "Oh my goodness! Did she have to cut her hair?"

Tolas laughs with Leo, "Yes, that must have been, embarassing."

Temari grins, "Short-haired Jera," she answers for Leonette.

Kayjay nods, big eyed. "A rider, I forget who, came along with a knife. She had to cut the hair loose. The girl had long hair at the time." She chuckles. "She did end up getting a nice cut out of it all." She giggles at Temari."You remember!"

Aithne snickers,'That must have been so embarassing for her....and funny for everyone else.'

Tolas snickers, "Yeah, kinda of like those purple dragon's of yours eh Leo?"

Temari nods, "She did look really nice with short hair though, just I don't think she'd planned for it to be cut, least not like that anyway." She smiles at Kayjay, "Must have been something about that group cos J'rin lost his hair too after that syrup incident."

Leonette giggles, "Yep...purple dragons, and giant snails!" and laughs even more. At least she has a good sense of humor?

Kayjay grins. "Ah yes, how can I forget!" She pats her own long braid. "I cut mine off for a short time but figured I could pin it up alright if I have to.. I like long hair."

"Syrup Incident?" Aithne asks curiously.

Tolas looks curious as well.

Leonette nods and pulls her own long hair forward over her shoulder, fingering it thoughtfully, listening to Kayjay as Aithne once again voices her question before she can.

Kayjay grins. "Temari can tell that one."

Temari shrugs, "Oh, just J'rin got his hair covered in syrup, and decided to cut it rather than try and wash it out," she replies quickly.

Tolas snorts, "Guess you weren't becoming a harper were you Temari?"

Leonette looks almost as if she will fall asleep right there in her chair. She pulls herself up straighter, blinking like an owl, and chuckling as Temari tells the whole story in one sentence.

Temari laughs, "Harper? You must be joking! You have to be able to study hides and things, and sing, and play an instrument. No way!"

Kayjay laughs at Temari. "She tells the brief story and I ramble."

Tolas chuckles, "Yeah, I meant harpers draw their story out like Kayjay, where as you finish it right away. And rambling while telling a story is ok..."

Aithne snickers softly between sips of her juice, "We should get together and write down all the stories we want remember from candidacy.'

Temari shrugs, "Well there wasn't any more too it than that," she tells Tolas.

Leonette nods slowly, "And probably some that we don't...just because others would want to know..."

Tolas snickers, "Oh yes, most definitely somethings we don't want others knowing." Not anything personal, oh no.

Temari grins, "Unless it was something that you were the only witness to then it's going to be remembered," she adds, "Especially if it was embarrasssing."

Leonette blinks. Maybe it's the fact that she's so tired, but she says, "No...I just meant stuff you might want to forget...but that other people would want to know..." and then she shrugs.

Aithne giggles at Temari, 'But then think..turns and turns from now...We may want to look back and laugh'

Temari looks unconvinced, "Maybe.. when I'm an old aunty-by-the-fire, but that's a large number of turns from now."

Kayjay blinks innocently. "Oh? but I thought you were so wise now."

Tolas nods his head in agreement with Temari. "Right, besides, I wouldn't want candidates looking up my embarassign moments, might be ackward."

Leonette shrugs. "Wouldn't bother me..." she says. "Maybe they could learn from my mistakes..." after thinking about that for a moment she giggles, "That way they can make their own!"

Temari sticks her tongue out at Kayjay, that seeming the most appropriate response, then grins at Tolas, "Exactly! Don't write /anything/ you don't want remembered. Besides, it's more fun if candidates can find out how to make mistakes by themselves."

Tolas chuckles, unable to resist taking a stab at Leo, or anyone for that matter. "Yeah, but how many people lose their memories and start calling people purple dragons? I don't think /anyone/ will repeat that one."

Jeryn strides over from the Western Courtyard.

Jeryns entrance is announced by the loud creeling of a large brown firelizard hatchling and a harried look on his face as he bolts over to the table and finds something for the greedy guts to eat.

Kayjay takes another small sip of her wine. "Oh..so mature, Temari." She giggles as Jeryn dashes for the meal table. "Having fun?"

Leonette blinks at Tolas, "No, I suppose not...but every group has it's klutz..." she looks over at Jeryn as he enters.

Tolas eyes follow Jeryn, and says somewhat harshly, "That thing better not keep me up again tonight."

Aithne recognizes that look anywhere...trying not to giggle, "They are rather persistant little things at times.'

Temari watches Jeryn's progress and grins, "Every day makes me more glad I've never impressed a 'lizard," she says cheerfully.

Jeryn gives Kayjay a withering look as he feeds Mudpie, ensuring the poor creature doesn't choke. He replies to Tolas in a similarly wintry tone of voice, "if you weren't snoring so loud, you wouldn't have heard anything."

Tolas raises an eyebrow, "I think that's Largon actually, I don't snore," he says in a litter tone.

Leonette looks over at Jeryn, and blinks, but says nothing.

Kayjay doesn't look the least bit repentent. "Come sit with me, dear."

Temari giggles, "You don't snore /much/," she corrects Tolas.

Tolas hmmpfhs at everyone. "Yeah, well, no one has ever lost sleep over it." He stop thinking to himself, "Shards, now I'm getting touchy. How much longer till those eggs hatch Kayjay?"

"How do you know whether you do or not?" Aithne asks with a grin before looking over at Kayjay for her answer.

Leonette suddenly widens her eyes, "Wasn't there a rumor going around that they might /never/ hatch?" she asks, looking at Aithne.

C'ley walks over from the Western Courtyard.

Jeryn finally gets the poor brown, if not dead asleep, shut up, and he goes to sit near Kayjay. There is evidence of scratching on his hands, no doubt from handling the firelizard inexpertly. His eyebrows lift up as Leonette mentions the rumor.

Kayjay looks up at Tolas. "I would say a month, month and a half perhaps. How are your robes coming? Jeryn? How about you?"

Temari chuckles, "It might /feel/ like it," she replies to Leonette, then nods at Kayjay's reply.

Jeryn sighs a bit at the mention of robes. "Well, if I'm lucky, it won't fall apart on the sands and give everyone a show."

Kayjay whistles softly. "Oh. I wouldn't mind .." She winks. "Just teasing. Get another candidate to check the seams."

Tolas gives a sudden shout of laughter, "That reminded me of that rhyme about L'mir..."

Leonette nods, "I took your advice Kayjay...I'll have to fix the top a bit...but it's just about done." then she stifles a giggle with her hand.

Aithne looks innocently at Leo before shrugging. "My robe and sandals sit there...ready to be slipped in." She grins as she spots C'ley, "Evening!"

Kayjay waves at C'ley.

Leonette waves over at C'ley as he comes in. "Hi there!" she says.

C'ley doesn't really say anything 'cause well he looks more alseep then away 'cause his eyes are bare little slits. At the mention of his name the rider moves his head in the direction of the fuzzy shapes as he waves in greetings.

Jeryn looks toward the entrance as C'ley arrives, then his attention is grabbed by someone who wants attention, and it's not Kayjay this time. But he does speak to her quietly.

Tolas waves a hello to C'ley, but doesn't say anything.

Kayjay smiles softly at Jeryn. "Truly? That I am so glad. He is a sweetie though and don't worry in a sevenday or so he won't eat as much or as often." She glances up at C'ley. "Wouldn't bed be a better option?"

C'ley shuffles his feet to one of the seats and then plops down as though he suddenly had his strings cut. The sleepyhead mummers something but well since he is face down on the wooden table it just is abunch of unintelligable sounds.

Leonette blinks at C'ley, and then says, "Huh?"

Temari chuckles as she looks at C'ley, "I'm sure the serving helpers can clean around him in the morning," she comments, to noone in particular.

Tolas regards C'ley somewhat contemptously, "Man, go to /sleep/. You are hard enough to understand when you are awake."

Kayjay giggles as Avan peers from her shoulder at Mudpie. "He will grow up to be a strong handsome thing."

Kayjay sharply rebukes Tolas."Enough. He is your superior as a rider. NO need to speak insultingly."

Tolas flushes imeddiaetly, "Sorry..." is all he can manage to say, staring at the ground like that.

C'ley drags his head up and says "well i woud go to sleep but I can't go to sleep but I am really tired and well what I mean to say is ... " C'ley pauses at Kayjay's harsh words so he can say the intellgiable "Huh?"

Leonette gets up at walks over to C'ley, looking a little worried, "Um.../why/ can't you sleep?"

Kayjay looks at Tolas. "If C'ley was more awake I would make you apologize now. But since he isn't you can wait to do so, tomorrow, after an extra half day duties on mucking."

Aithne grins at Temari, her smile fading at Tolas' words. "Maybe a cup of tea or a bubbly?"

Tolas simply nods his head, still staring at the ground. The extra work bit will sink into his head later.

Leonette suddenly seems reminded of something. She shrugs, looks over at Tolas, then back over at C'ley.

"Uhm, are you okay Kayjay 'cause well I mean that isn't needed 'cause well it wasn't or anything 'cause well I mean it wasn't." says C'ley in a fit of strong will before saying to Leonette and then saying that oh so useful word "Huh? A bubbly, you have a bubbly?"

Kayjay looks at C'ley. "You deserve to be treated with respect, Bronzerider. Insolence isn't tolerated."

Leonette blinks. "Um...I have a sweetroll?" she says, holding up her sweetroll, only one small bite eaten out of it.

Temari grimaces, "I had /far/ too many bubblies at the gather, I'm staying away from them for at least a month now."

Aithne snickers at C'ley before she slips into the kitchen...After a long pause, she emerges with one bubbly. "Sorry, C'ley...this is the very last one...and its not warm. They'll be making some in a couple of hours though."

Jeryn smiles placidly as he watches Kayjay in action, his eyes looking out over the others to see how her words take effect.

C'ley suddenly shakes his head before saying "Hrm, no I need klah, yeah that is what I need, I need klah 'ause well I men i am trying to figure out what is going on and I can't and well I mean I think I need klah." C'ley eyes Leonette with his blurry eyes "Would you be a dear and get me klah 'cause well I mean I need a klah, oh, I mean or you could do it Aithne 'cause well I mean you could do it too."

Kayjay tries to lighten the mood and chuckles. "I suppose sweetrolls could take the place of a bubbly in a pinch."

Leonette rushes over to get C'ley some klah, carrying it carefully, "Sure!" she says brightly, then, "And it's even still warm!" setting it in front of him.

Aithne giggles at Leo as she sets the bubbly before C'ley then pads back to her seat.

Tolas is still flushed, but a few shades back to his original pale self now. Yet he still finds the ground /extremely/ interesting.

Leonette looks over at Aithne, confused of course, and says, "What?"

C'ley smiles gratefully towards Leonette before taking a sip of his drink before relising it needs more sweetner. After putting in alarge amount the lad finally finishes the klah and says "Now, I mean that is better 'cause well it is and I mean thank you for the bubbly 'cause well I appreachate that and everything and well, I mean now I am awake or something can I ask you Kayjay if you are okay 'cause well I mean did I just hear you before say that Tolas had to do more chores 'cause well I mean I think I heard you say that he did but I am not sure 'cause i was kinda sleepy.

Jeryn looks down at Mudpie and fondly rubs a finger along the young firelizard's eyeridge.

Kayjay nods to C'ley. "Yes, I did. I wasn't very appreciative of his tone nor his words to you, a rider who puts his life and limb at risk for Pern."

Leonette blinks at C'ley, but doesn't say anything, but "You're welcome" Most of that was directed toward Kayjay...

Aithne sips her juice as she glances over at Mudpie before listening to Kayjay.

Kayjay peers over at Mudpie. "You using that oil I brought over to the barracks today Jeryn?"

Temari just stays quietly listening as well, though she watches Jeryn's brown curiously, and eventually comments, "I'm sure Mudpie's bigger already than the first time I saw him."

C'ley ahhs for a moment and then puts his hand on his neck for a moment before saying "I thought that is what you said, I mean I was hoping you didn't say it 'cause well I mean I was trying to figure out why you said it 'cause well I mean I was curious, I mean 'cause well I mean do you think you need to protect me Kayjay? 'cause well I mean I am curious about that."

Leonette looks from C'ley to Kayjay, and back again...then back to Kayjay and to C'ley again. She's definitely confused now...

Kayjay shakes her head. "You misunderstand, C'ley. I would do the same if the same was said to any rider. Candidates should be mindful to treat riders with respect."

Jeryn nods to Kayjay. "Yeah, I stole it while you were sleeping... didn't want to wake you up or anything."

Aithne listens quietly, her gaze flickering between C'ley and Kayjay.

Kayjay grins."Looks like it is working, he doesn't look to uncomfortable. What about the other firelizards, you all taking care of your new friends?"

"Well I think he was respectful, 'cause well i mean he just tols the truth 'cause he did and well I mean to say that well since I am the one that you think he was disrepectful for and well i don't see why he is punished, I mean I wondering why he is 'cause well I mean all he said is that he can't understand me which is understandable 'cause well I mean some people can't and well I mean I don't always say what girls tell me 'cause well I don't and well I mean should I get in trouble when I tell the person I don't understand them?"

Tolas continues pondering the ground, his face almost back to normal, enough so taht he can listen on the conversations.

Kayjay sighs. "Perhaps we can talk about this another time, C'ley? I heard a difinate insulting contemptous tone of voice that did not need to be there."

Kayjay looks at the bronzerider with fondness. "We all know you have a unique way of expressing yourself. There is a difference in speaking that as fact and turning it into an insult against you."

C'ley just hurmphs for a moment before saying "Nah, 'cause well I mean since you already made up your mind it will not matter if I talk to you later about it 'cause well I mean since you think that you should do that despite me not wanting it or anything like that so I mean what will be the point." C'ley shrugs for a moment and then takes a bite out of his bubbly.

Temari suddenly yawns, covering her mouth with her hand, "Ug, I think I'm going to find my cot, /I/ find that more comfortable than a weyrhall table," she remarks, then pushes herself to her feet.

Kayjay sighs and bites her lower lip. "Excuse me, I didn't mean to spoil people's fun."

Kayjay smiles pleasantly as well. "I think I will take a little stroll before bed. Good night all."

Kayjay strides over to the Courtyard.

Aithne nods her head in agreement to Kayjay, glancing over to wave at Temari. Finally she blinks at Kayjay, 'No...you didn't ruin anyone's fun.'

Avan flits over from the Western Courtyard.

Avan flies over and perches near Bertha.

You walk over to the Courtyard.

Kayjay looks at Temari, shrugs and continues on her way.

Kayjay walks toward White Sands Beach.

Temari follows Kayjay up towards the waterfall, "Are you ok, Kayjay?" she calls softly, her expression worried.

Kayjay turns around, shaking her head. "No. I hate doing this.. just hate it. I wish those sharding eggs would hatch. I hate being the bad guy and C'ley just made it worse."

Temari nods slowly, "I know, I saw that, I wanted to just tell C'ley to shut up." She smiles slightly, "Though that would be pretty futile. You did the right thing Kayjay, we knew that, Tolas knew that. We were all chatting happily together before C'ley came in, that was good."

Kayjay sighs. "Thing is -I- know it hurts C'ley when people make fun of the way he talks. He told me that. He doesn't mind teasing but .. Tolas was downright insulting."

Temari nods again, "Yes, Tolas was, but hopefully another time he'll think again before being so - to anyone, not just to a rider. I don't think C'ley really heard him though cos he was so tired, that's probably why he defended Tolas."

Kayjay nods. "Perhaps." She wearily rubs her temples. "And people wonder why I get headaches."

Temari smiles gently, "How about you go rest then, I'm going to my cot now, I just wanted to check you were ok and tell you we're all still your friends."

Kayjay smiles back. "Thanks friend."

Temari smiles again, "Any time," then turns and walks back down the path to the beach, stopping once to wave as she goes.

You walk toward the White Sands Beach.
