So what's the story behind you?

Oh! I hardly get asked this question. I'm so glad you asked!

I'm a born and raised Warrnambool lad and haven't lived anywhere else...yet ;)

As most kids, I did my primary education ('90 - '96) and then went onto Warrnambool College, and graduated with no honors :(. But graduated I did.

It was during the year 2000 that I found myself on the SRC, one of, in my opinion, the more important student bodies. It was when a very good friend of mine, Zack Pretlove (who has now definately gone onto better pastures in exactly what, I'm not sure, but another story to be told.)

Anyhow

Zack infomed the SRC that positions were vacent on what was known as the Warrnambool Junior Council. I expressed my interest to join this council, and was lucky enough to be one of 3 people selected to join. From 2000 to 2002, I was re-installed 3 times for the Junior Council, and then what became the Youth Council in 2001.

During this time, I involved myself with many projects that were developed by Adrian Hunter, who is the Youth Development Officer at WCC, and now my boss. These projects included the youth discount card, many junior disco's, youth achiever presentation nights, and then eventually joining the Freeza committee.

When I graduated at the end of 2002, this also meant an end to the 3 years I had given to the Warrnambool City Youth Council. After graduating, I had found myself thinking of what I wanted to do in terms of a career. Most people at that age (18) usually have some sort of idea of what they would like to do, but I was somewhat of an exception.

Interested in graphic/visual communication since I was 14, as well as media studies since I was 15, it would be a pretty good assumption that I would try and tackle either the visual communication industry, or the media area. Eventually, I put all focus towards visual design.

However, knock backs from both Monash University - Caulfield campus and Deakin University - Warrnambool campus, my plans of getting into graphic design had seemed to of gone down the tube.

It was after that, in Febuary when I returned from an overseas trip in the Philippines that I was informed of a job opportunity arising at the Warrnambool City Council as a "Youth Projects Officer". My experience in the last 3 years as a Youth Council and Freeza volunteer had made it very possible for me to get the job.

The interview went well, and I was told of the news, and, the rest as they say is history...
