BONDI PIPE FREEZING

BONDI PIPE FREEZING FROZE THIS PIPE FOR JORDAN PLUMBING IN THE SYDNEY SUBURB OF WHALAN. THE PIPE HAS TURNED WHITE FROM FROSTING WHERE IT IS FROZEN. JOHN JORDAN WELDS IN A THREAD WHICH ENABLES HIM TO SCREW ON A NEW VALVE. ONCE THE VALVE IS IN PLACE,THE FREEZE IS MELTED ALLOWING NORMAL WATER FLOW TO RETURN.


In this series of photos you can see where a gate pier has been constructed on top of a water main. This has weakened the pipe and eventually burst it. The pipe needed to be redirected around the pier but the main stop valve was in the middle of a busy road at a depth of two metres. The solution was to freeze the pipe and then reroute it.
