United States

This page features photographs from the various parts of the USA that I have been fortunate enough to visit. I say fortunate because it is an amazing, incredibly diverse country; and because I have been able to meet up with some wonderful people, who have become good friends.

I first visited the States in September 1991, when I spent three weeks on the West Coast. California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada all amazed me with the breathtaking beauty of their scenery, and the vitality and diversity of their cities. The Grand Canyon was awesome, Yosemite was majestic, the Pacific Coast Highway was fun to drive; San Francisco was cool, LA was crazy, and Vegas......well Vegas must have a huge electricity bill.

In October 1996 I spent a few days in Toronto, and stole across the border to stay for a couple of days in Lake Placid. I wish I could have stayed longer.

September 1998 saw a grand tour; New York, Washington, Jacksonville and Seattle were our bases in a two week vacation. Yes, a lot of travelling involved, but a fun time was had by all!

In April 1999, New York was revisited for a couple of days (I think we needed another fix of the place).

As there is so much to cover here, it will probably be some time before this part of the site is complete! So far I only have photos from the 1998 tour, but hopefully more will follow.
