Raptor Reviews

Here are items you can find for your Raptor or other accessories for your gun:

Thunder Pig R2000 Regulator:

I found this a rather inexpensive regulator. It doesn't work well under 500 psi, but is very effective in a low pressure setup. This is also a good alternative to an expansion chamber, that will help you from running liquid in your gun. It is very easy to setup, because it is an inline reg., which means you can put it directly on your tank or in the vertical mount with a reducer. It can be found for around $40-45 with guage. CMI Tru-Flight barrel 14":

This is a very inexpensive barrel found at anywhere from $20 to $40. Being very small bore, I broke anything that wasn't "small bore paint" according to xpbs.com/barrels.htm . I was pleasantly surprized by its tight groupings. I used a low pressure Raptor to test, so it wasn't vey loud, but I imagine that it's considerably louder for tank pressure guns. It is linearly rifled, so it eliminates spin on the ball, although I found it was fery hard to shoot out of breaks, and that breaks had a huge detrimental effect on accuracy. SUBMITTED BY: Typhren

Palmer Stabilizer:

The stabilizer is one of the best CO2 regs on the market. However, the price may deter most people. It is awesome in a low pressure setup, with a very good flow rate. If you're looking for a great reg that will run low pressure (under 300 psi), and also stop liquid CO2 from getting into the gun, then this is it. When I say stop liquid CO2 I mean STOP. I've used it on the most tempermental gun, my automag, with CO2 and no liquid entered the gun at all. It runs for around $90 for the black version and $100 for the nickel plated. Lapco Bigshot Aluminum barrel:

The Lapco Bigshot is a medium to large bore barrel. This barrel is just as accurate (per my testing, with appropriate paint sizes for the barrels) as the DYE boomstick. The Bigshot is the best choice for the Raptor as it is very efficient, accurate, and a good bore for the gun. In a raptor you want a medium to large bore paint because the breech of the gun is medium to large bore. Shooting a medium bore paint will help eliminate ball chops that might have come from using small bore paintballs. For $47.50 (www.g3pb.com), you can't beat the Lapco Bigshot. However it is a tad on the loud side, but with a loud gun anyways, there's no big problem (at least I don't mind). As for how much louder than a boomstick, it's not that big of a difference to justify the $60 price difference between the Boomstick and Lapco Bigshot. If you want a great barrel for accuracy, efficiency, and for a future/current low pressure setup, the Bigshot is the recommended barrel of the Raptor Owner's Group, as anyone will tell you.
