GF 1954 1930 LAGONDA 2-LITRE LOW CHASSIS SPEED MODEL:

Registered 24th March 1930, GF 1954 was photographed four months later on 19th July at Brooklands at the last annual pre-war Lagonda Fete, where it took part in a special race for 2-litre Speed Models, bearing the racing number 19.

1941 Derringtons of Kingston-Upon-Thames sold GF to Yorkshire farmer and Lagonda enthusiast Henry Coates for £50.

1944 Coates removed the engine and installed a supercharged engine from a 2-litre Tourer together with a 1932 Zoller blower.

1947-1951 Coates competed in many VSCC rallies and trials, winning at least 10 awards.

1963 GF came South again, and in 1964 was completely rebuilt, but without it's supercharger. Subsequently it was advertised in Motorsport magazine in 1966 as "the finest example of it's type anywhere", and sold again.

1984Me and my wife Ann purchased GF.

1991 it was seen on television at Brooklands in "The Power and the Glory", and in 1994 it was again running blown, with a replica Cozette supercharger.

1999 it was back at Brooklands for the Lagonda Centenary meeting.
