The Osiris-Class starship was designed as a "rush job" with its' objective being a (relatively) quickly-available new class of Federation explorer, put back together again with as little brand-new time & material-rich construction as possible.

The Osiris-Class explorer was configured with cannabalized components of several starships that fell victim to the Borg, & Jem Hadar. It would become the flagship of Starfleet's "Frankenstein Fleet". a series of aesthetically-unappealing starships crewed by a tenuous mix of seasoned veterans & San Francisco's cadets appointed earlier than usual to assignments off-world during the last few months of the Dominion War. Among the Frankenstein Fleet's main contributors - the Loknar, Miranda, Sovereign-Class & Ronin/Borodin classes.

There's usually about 275 to 300 personnel aboard an Osiris-Class starship as it leaves spacedock. It's main vulnerability is its twin main navigation deflectors, as they have-to be tuned within ten microns or they're rendered useless. But, it's also capable of planetfall & take-off simillar to the Intrepid-Class. It's top speed is Warp 9.74.
