Treasured Memories

There are so many treasured Memories

Yet , So few of them we share...

Our hearts and minds can't fathom

That anyone would really care.

Then One day we meet a stranger

And for some reason we bare our soul...

Showing them the hidden parts of our heart

Each frightening secret we expose.

They walk with us in memory

To a place of Long ago ...

Together at the graveside

The story was told.

The sky was so dark,

The morning so gray...

Just a handful of people

Not sure what to say.

The heavens did open

And rain started to fall...

Empty , lost faces

How I searched them all.

Here is where they laid her

No Preacher was here,

Empty eyes watching

As a Gentleman came near.

I am so sorry to tell you

An emergency arose,

Your Pastor was beckoned

And He had to go.

If anyone here

Has some words to say

Please call them now

As we stand at her grave.

As I looked up to heaven

The rain did pour down...

I thought, Yes the Angels are crying

Then my  voice I found.

A Last Farewell to My Mother

And One final Plea...

With a trembling voice,

All eyes watching me.

With these words finally spoken

From where did they come ?

I reached for

My Daughter and loving Son.

Why could I not feel them ?

Is this a dream ?

Voices around me...

What do they mean ?

It's time to leave now

So they can close Her grave.

"Go on without me...

I need to stay."

Time had past,

I know not how long...

Muddy dirt in my hand.

Slowly I carried on.

I must  finish the task

Follow through to the end...

I buried my spirit

That day with My best friend.

Along with My Mother

Went the Best part of me...

Until one day came,

And a Friend walked with me.

And there at the Graveside

To my friend I bared my soul...

It's then that the tears came

And this story was  told.

Miles away , But close to me...

My Friend knows this heart

And helped set me free.
