There's been sorrow and pain
many times in my life.
but you were there to hold my hand.
Many times I've fallen and
you were there to
lift me up.
I've yelled at you, been
angry at you and you
still stood by my side.
I've cried many silent tears
in my life, and you
dried my tears.
Then one day you said you had to go
away for awhile.
I hung my head and said
I don't blame you.
All I've done is hurt you.
You touched my heart with your
hand and said.
"I'll never leave nor
forsake you."
I asked you when you
would return.
You said, In 3 days.
I asked if I could go
with you.
You replied.
No, you must stay behind.
As you turned to leave you
smiled and told me
not to cry.
I decided to follow you and
was horrified when I saw that
Cross of Wood.
I watched as they nailed you
to that tree that looked
like a Cross.
I fell to my knees and,
couldn't make a sound.
My voice, caught in my throat.
Three days later sitting on my porch,
my hands covering a tear stained face.
I heard a sound, and looked up and said.
Jesus, Oh Jesus, your alive!!
I ran toward you and you wrapped your
arms around me, smiled and said.
I died for you.
Now tell me, will you live
for me?
With tears of joy, I replied.
Lord, serving you is all I want
to do, now and forever more.
He gently lifted my head and said.
The task will not be easy.
You must stand firm and know that
I am always with you.
As tears ran down my cheek, I said
My Lord, you are all I ever
need to seek.
For now I know this sinner was
saved only by
your grace.
