Searching for Happiness

Everyone searches for happiness,

but we're not sure where it is found.

Can we find it on the mountain top

or a treasure buried underground?

 

Can it be found in that perfect person

you hope to have as your husband or wife,

Or can it come from people around you,

those you encounter throughout your life?

 

True happiness doesn't depend on others

but is more a state of one's mind.

It isn't somewhere beyond your reach

but is something we each can find.

 

When you open your heart and mind to God

and trust in his loving promise too,

If you'll always look inward and upward,

true happiness can come to you.
