"God, Are You There?"

"God, Are you there?"
I caught myself saying.
"Can you hear my call?
..and all of my praying?"

These tragedies in life,
Were not in my plan.
Happiness was my goal
So humbly in Your presence I stand.

Please help me each day
And be near by my side
Lead each turn in life;
My footsteps; please guide.

Let me learn to live more
By what You would have me do
Than think I do the planning
And living as I want to.

I know in my heart
You have all in Your plan
To brighten our lives
We must simply understand.

Please once again, Lord
Bring peace to my soul
Replace frowns with a smile
Reminding me of my goal.

I fight so desperately
To find peace here each day
Yet knowing true peace
In Heaven does lay.

So Lord, please be with me
And show me the way
To accept hardships in life,
And allow You to lead my day.
