Oh Nile,

You might quench my thirst,

But you can't make me smile,

Nor shall I ever worship you and put you first!

Oh flood,

You may water my crops,

But your flow can never replace his blood!

Your generosity is stingy 

compared to but a few of its precious drops!

Oh pyramids of wonder.

You may indeed reach wide and high.

But what stirs my heart is God's holy thunder!

You are so very small! 

He hears me when I cry.

Oh tombs,

your dead lived so very long ago.

But Jesus' resurrection from death, my heart consumes!

His death, His life tells me he loves me so.

Oh desert sand,

We have nothing in common but the wind.

But Jesus held my hand,

And even died for me though I had sinned.

Oh Egypt, ancient land,

I am only passing through.

I gaze at sights, interesting and even grand,

But I have no desire to live in you.
