A mothers day is a day to show love,
To mothers as busy as a hovering dove.
Well I know a few who deserve affection true,
For devotion given to their kids too.
With so little help from human kind,
They care for their babies with all of their mind.
No harm to them will ne're come near,
As they peacefully sleep without any fear.
She caries them around from place to place,
Should a trace of danger be seen, even a trace.
Cuddled in a nest with mother on guard,
Keeping dinner near by is sometimes hard.
But mother stands purring, so proud of them all,
While babies respond, they know mothers call.
Now everyone knows who this mother is,
Our little house cat who has acted remiss!
