A Gentle Heart
A heart as pure as the driven snow
At peace with earth all below .
These were the words written in your yearbook with love and care .
From classmates in high school ,
Friendships that remained for years, always there .
I pondered these words written in 1929 ,
And let them so gently settle in my mind .
A kind gentle heart to all on her path she would meet ,
Always a smile and a nod , ever so sweet .
Everyone that knew you always was drawn like a magnet to your charms ,
Your spirit on earth was so very gentle, sweet , and warm.
My Mother, My Friend, now you have gone to your heavenly home .
Everyday of my life you brush through me, makes me feel safe from all harm .
Your gentle touch and your teaching ways ,
Built my foundation for all my adult days .
Miss you? Yes, I do everyday of my life .
Your lessons you left me helped me become a devoted mother and wife .
A sweet southern belle with a flare for style and simple grace .
My guardian you now are in Heavens depot ,
Oh Mother, you were the greatest person I have ever known .
