Defender

Sometimes it just gets Boring

And It gets a little Old...

To have to keep defending

Your Simple Moral code.

There are Always those

Ready to do Battle...

Dissecting your each word,

I know it is quite evident ,

Not one word have they even heard.

They search for hidden messages

They read in between the lines...

Then fill the gaps that are in between,

To perpetuate " Their Lie"

You get weary of the defending

Some days You walk away quite bruised...

Yet with even a black eye or two,

It's something You must do.

So keep on just defending

Those things that you believe...

It's just one round that's over

And Truth shall set you free.

In truth and in Good consciousness

Those who have eyes shall see...

Your defending those without a voice

The same truths which You believe.

So, You may get weary of the defending

Some days You may walk away quite bruised...

Yet even with a blackened eye or two,

It's something You must do.
