In a corner
She Huddled
With Her son
in her arms ...
Take My life
she cried
But Please Do
Him no harm.
Broken and
beaten,
With no will
left to fight...
She cradled
her baby
Long into the
night.
What have I
done
To warrant
this pain ...
My screams
fall on deaf ears
My pleas are
in vain.
Doesn't
anyone see me,
Doesn't
anyone care...
Blind stares
at these bruises,
But they dare
not ask from where.
Beating then
beating,
Night after
night ...
Would death
come to claim us
Before I
could put things right.
Would My son
live to grow
Into a kind
gentle man...
Or would we
both perish
By his
fathers cruel hand.
If I should
stay here
We both shall
die...
It must be
done,
Expose the
lie.
Make the call
,
Walk out the
door...
It's time to
end this,
To take no
more.
Don't look
back ,
Ignore those
tears he now cries...
The abuse
raging inside of him
Shall never
fade or die.
There is a
new life waiting
There is a
brighter new day...
Where you can
watch you child
Grow and
sweetly play.
Don't ever
look back
Though your
scars have cut deep...
Just cradle
Your sweet baby boy
As You sing
him for the first time
into
peaceful sleep.
