Competition Characteristics
What sports
will the tournament include?
What is the XCST?
The Extreme Compound Sports Tournament is a multi-week event
being held in the Lansdale area. Teams will compete in
various sports to promote team-work etc.
How do I sign up? Go to the
register page and send
superlou@comcast.net an email when you have gathered the
appropriate information.
Will it cost money to sign
up? Currently we are looking at a cost of around $30 per
team for sign-up (that's three dollars, deal with it) to help pay
for awards and refreshments. We will collect this money at
the first official match the team plays in. How can I
help? XCST is currently being run by people without any
credentials of any sort. If you want to help, send us an
email. We currently need to identify the various fields to
be used and we need a trustworthy set of officials to mediate XCST
matches. Where/when will
it be held? Currently we are looking at fields in the
Lansdale, Hatfield area. If you know of a field near you
that would not mind light usage by the XCST, please contact us.
Matches will be held on every Tuesday and Friday during the season
excepting some odd circumstances. Team's that do not show
for their match will be credited with a loss. If the
opposing team shows, they will be given a win. Matches will
last for an appropriate length of time. More specifics
coming soon.
How many people are allowed on a team? The current team
size may range from 10 to 15 people. Most sports will
require less players. The large team size allows teams to
not be penalized as much if a player cannot attend a match.
If more players show up for a match than allowed to play at one
time, substitutes can be called according to the rules of the
game.
Are
there any restrictions on who can be on a team?
Currently there are no age restrictions. If this appears as
if it may be a problem please let us know by inquiring in the
registration email. The only requirement is that all players
must be trustworthy and willing to follow the decisions of the
XCST as occasions arise. This tournament is for fun; realize
that not all of the teams will be playing with the same
competitive drive or overall talent. If you cannot enjoy
competing without becoming angry and stupid, we would request you
go else where. Like Saudi Arabia.
Can players be
removed from a team? While we hope this will be
unnecessary, XCST may remove players from a single game or from
the entire competition. Violations include but are not
limited to:
- Cursing
- Unnecessary roughness
- Willful violation of rules
- 5% Down, Limited APR at signing
- Damage to fields or XCST property
- Failing to respect XCST participants or officials
If a player must be removed from a team permanently, that
team's captain has the option of recruiting another player at
the XCST's discretion.
Are
there restrictions on team uniforms/logos? Teams may
wear anything that does not impose on their ability to wear
appropriate safety pads or other team's common sensibilities.
At an XCST's discretion, anything vulgar or racey can be ordered
removed at any time during a match. If the team is unable
to continue play without this apparel, they sacrifice the game.
Team logos also follow similar guidelines and must be acceptable
to XCST officials.
