Union Artillery

Welcome, I will show some tips on how I paint Toy Soldiers. Here are some pictures of Union Cannon Set that I did a few months ago.

[Imex Artillery Set]

First, I got a Imex American Civil War Union Cannon Set. It is in 54mm scale and is nicely detailed.

I then washed the figures and cannon to remove any grease. I used some hot water and detergent. I also cut of any plastic pieces with a clipper or used a hobby knife.

I then primed the figures with primer paint. The paint with stick better if you use a primer.

Next, I painted the face, hands and any other part of the body that is shown. I then paint the main parts of the uniform( jacket, pants, hat, etc...). After this I paint the guns, belts, hair and paint again any spots that I missed. I leave for last the eyes, buttons and any fine details.

Next I started on the Cannon. I used a bronze color paint for the cannon barrel and dark brown for the wheels and main part of the cannon. Gunmetel paint was used for the bolts and pieces of Iron on the cannon.

Almost done.

I added an Officer to complete the set. The Officer was made by Accurate or Imex?
