JAN 2003 -- SOLDIER FIRED FOR SAYING "GOD BLESS YOU" TO VETERAN FAMILIES: An honor guardsman has been fired from his duties at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Philadelphia for expressing a simple blessing after graveside services. Patrick Cubbage, 54, a retired Vietnam veteran was employed as an honor guard at the cemetery. According to Cubbage, he was merely following the training he had been given when he was first hired. He offered a simple message to the families of deceased veterans as he presented them with their folded memorial American flag. Cubbage would present the family with the flag and say, "God bless you and this family, and God bless the United States of America."

The problems began, Cubbage says, when two of his fellow honor guardsmen complained last October. The cemetery's honor guard coordinator ordered him to stop the blessings, saying that he was not following protocol.

In spite of this clear directive, Joan L. Edwards, affirmative-action officer for the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, wrote to the supervisor stating, "Government employees 'must not engage in activities or expression that a reasonable observer would interpret as government endorsement ... of religion.'"

Cubbage had discontinued the blessings until one service in which the family were clearly Christian. When he handed them the flag, he recited the blessing with confidence. That's when two fellow workers reported him, and he was fired on the spot. Cubbage says, "I just don't get it. When you give people that flag, you see them look into it and remember a whole time in their loved one's life. So why in God's name did they fire me? Because in God's name, they did fire me." --Presidential Prayer Team website.

A FLORIDA COMPANY WILL SOON ASK THE U.S. GOVERNMENT FOR PERMISSION TO MAKE THE FIRST-EVER COMPUTER I.D. CHIP THAT COULD BE EMBEDDED BENEATH A PERSON'S SKIN. The "Verichip" is manufactured by Applied Digital Solutions. The company says it will soon begin the process of getting the Food and Drug Administration's approval for the devise, and intends to limit its marketing to companies that ensure its human use is voluntary. The devise is about the size of a grain of rice and would be inserted under a person's skin. The devise contains a millimeter-long magnetic coil that is activated when a scanning devise is run across the skin. A tiny transmitter on the chip sends out data. Applied Digital has been contacted by national and international corporations who are urging the company to develop and market the internal tracking devices. -- 'Agape Press'

AT REGIS COLLEGE IN WESTON, MA, FRIDAY APRIL 5, 2002 -- CARDINAL BERNARD LAW CELEBRATED A MASS AS PART OF THE INAUGURATION CEREMONIES FOR THE COLLEGE'S NEW PRESIDENT, MARY JANE ENGLAND. Cardinal Law is facing possible resignation following further evidence that he and other Boston Archdiocese officials sought to protect another priest accused of child sexual abuse.

Law has also been criticized for moving now-defrocked priest John Geoghan from parish to parish despite years of evidence Geoghan was a threat to children. Geoghan has been accused of molesting more than 130 children over 30 years. Messages left with a spokeswoman for the archdiocese were not immediately returned. Law, 70, has vowed not to resign; he has apologized to abuse victims and announced a policy of "zero tolerance" for sexual abuse.

TUESDAY April 16, 2002 --
_ In Missouri, the Jefferson City Diocese said in a statement that the Rev. Kevin Clohessy was accused of sexual abuse in 1993 and suspended. Clohessy, 42, is the brother of David Clohessy, the national director of the advocacy group Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.

_ In Delaware, the bishop of the Diocese of Wilmington presented the attorney general with the names of five priests recently accused of abuse. State officials have received complaints against six other priests, said deputy attorney general Ferris Wharton.

_ In Ohio, Cleveland Bishop Anthony M. Pilla and more than 100 priests celebrated the funeral Mass of the Rev. Don Rooney, a priest who killed himself three days after a sex abuse allegation against him surfaced.

_ In New York, a priest in the Brooklyn Diocese was fired from his part-time job with the district attorney's office after authorities learned he had been placed on administrative leave by the diocese following allegations that he was involved in "inappropriate sexual contact" with three minors 20 years ago. -- 'AP' (Associated Press)

WEDNESDAY May 8, 2002 -- Boston Cardinal Law Testifies in Child Sex Case 'CULTURE OF DARKNESS'

Lawyers for Geoghan's alleged victims said they were pleased to be able to question the cardinal but sharply criticized what they called his "selective amnesia."

"He's hiding the culture of darkness in the archdiocese. There is a culture of secrecy and a culture of darkness involving evil and all this sexual molestation," said Mitchell Garabedian. -- 'Reuters'

TUESDAY 10 December 2002 - Boston Priest Rebellion Pushes for Law Resignation - The Archdiocese of Boston was in a state of open rebellion on Tuesday after 58 priests took the unprecedented step of asking Cardinal Bernard Law to resign in a letter delivered to the senior U.S. prelate's residence.


  Law, 12 Nov 2002 		"It's as close to an open revolt as priests can come," said Stephen Pope, chairman of the Theology Department at Boston College. "It's not that they're taking to the streets with torches, but this is something they never do."

The delivery of the letter marked the first time that a group of clergy had formally called for Law to step down following revelations that he and other church leaders shuttled priests accused of pedophilia from parish to parish.

One of the priests accused of some of the most shocking disclosures in the current crisis, the Rev. Paul Shanley, could be released on bail as early as Tuesday, law enforcement sources said. Shanley's lawyer was not immediately available for comment.

Shanley pleaded not guilty in June to charges he had raped and assaulted four young boys in the rectory and other parts of a Boston-area church during religious classes.

A former Boston archdiocese leader -- the Rev. Thomas Daily, now bishop of Brooklyn -- said in a sworn deposition earlier this year that the church knew Shanley had advocated sex between men and boys when it promoted him to lead a parish in 1983.

Long-simmering anger toward Law boiled over last week after archdiocese personnel files released by lawyers for Shanley's alleged victims yielded sordid tales of pedophilia, adultery and drug use by priests.

The documents revealed one priest was assigned to two parishes despite his record of molesting boys, another molested young girls while telling them he was the living embodiment of Jesus Christ and a third fathered two children and did not immediately call for help when their mother overdosed. -- 'Reuters'

MONDAY April 29, 2002 -- The first predictable reaction to the massacre was a call for a ban on violent computer games. "Killer games have to be outlawed," Edmund Stoiber, who is running for Chancellor in September, said. "We need to be much less tolerant of anything that glorifies violence."

Other politicians pointed out that since September 11 society has been bombarded by violent images on television. -- 'The Times'

Yes, they too were armed but there is a second common denominator -- They too "liked violent video games", specifically one called 'DUNE'. The five inch headlines of the Denver Post on the following day read with only one word and a question mark..."WHY ?". So I will ask, "Does it take a Sherlock Holmes to figure this out?" "Tighter gun control laws"?; but then what next? Outlaw knives, baseball bats, 2x4s over two feet long and then stones? We have a very real spiritual enemy and one that will destroy others through that which we give them -- "spiritual legal authority." Now what about the seemingly harmless -- "violent computer/video games" and why is no one taking steps to get them off the market..."WHY ?"

FRIDAY May 3, 2002 -- JUDGE ORDERS TEN COMMANDMENTS REMOVED. CHATTANOOGA, TENN. -- A federal judge on Friday ordered the removal of the Ten Commandments at two municipal buildings, ruling that their display violates the constitutional separation of church and state.

U.S. District Judge Allan Edgar ordered the removal of the Ten Commandments at the Hamilton County Courthouse and City Courts Building. The commandments are on engraved plaques shaped like a stone tablet.

However, Edgar said the Ten Commandments display can remain at Hamilton County's Juvenile Court Building because the plaintiffs, the Tennessee chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, did not have the right to challenge the posting there.

Edgar said none of the plaintiffs do business at the Juvenile Court so have not "endured unwelcome contact" with the display there.

The ACLU and several Hamilton County residents had sued, claiming the displays violate religious freedom and are "divisive to religious diversity."

The Ten Commandments were posted in December after a September vote by Hamilton County commissioners. Commission Chairman Bill Hullander has testified that the idea of posting them occurred to him a few days after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Edgar said the nation's founders' "made a conscious decision" to separate religion and government, which "has served us well."

"Experience tells us that there is perhaps nothing more divisive than the interjection of religion into our government. The controversy engendered by this commission action is proof of this," Edgar wrote.

ACLU state director Hedy Weinberg reserved comment until she had read the judge's opinion. The attorney for the defendants did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

More than half of Tennessee's 95 counties have approved similar Ten Commandments displays, and more than 30 have posted the biblical laws.

The ACLU also has sued in Rutherford County over the posting of the Ten Commandments in the Murfreesboro courthouse. -- 'AP'

A RADICAL CHANGE IN CHURCH TEACHING ON HOMOSEXUALITY, DECLARING IT TO BE "DIVINELY ORDERED," was revealed this week [June 2001] in a catechism commissioned by the Archbishop of York. He is the second most senior churchman in the Church of England. The Most Rev. David Hope, wrote the new catechism and describes it in his foreword as "a celebration of Christian living." Author Canon Edward Norman, canon and treasurer of York Minster, seeks to define Anglicanism for the first time since Thomas Cranmer wrote "The Book of Common Prayer" in 1662. Norman's section on sexuality contradicts official teaching and the views of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. George Carey.

"Homosexuality," says the (Catholic) catechism, "may well not be a condition to be regretted but to have divinely ordered and positive qualities." It continues: "Homosexual Christian believers should be encouraged to find in their sexual preferences such elements of moral beauty as may enhance their general understanding of Christ's calling." -- 'Crosswalk'

NOTE: The Methodist churches in this country are now recognizing Homosexuality to the point of even marrying "couples" in their congregations, and recognizing these marriages as "Godly".

Jesus Christ paid for ALL your sins on the cross at Calvary! And The word of God tells us this,

"...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL SIN."

ALL SIN means just that. There is NO sin that God will not or can not wash away through accepting the atonement and sacrifice that He made through the death of His only begotten Son on the cross.
