Deliverance "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." (Acts 10:38) A popular author and now television personality, has called himself, among other titles; "An Exorcist"...But for the purposes of this web page, I'll just call him "Ralph." I have personally written to Ralph on no less than four occasions to which he has never responded. It must be made clear here that there are several unbiblical characters out there claiming to be that which they are not (true ministers of God), and performing acts that serve as nothing more than a "demon entertainment hour." Among this individual's more noted unbiblical acts is to command demons to "go to the pit". After I'd last written to him I sincerely hoped to meet him to suggest the following. That all the "Christians" in this country get together on one certain day of the year and command all the demons in the land to "go to the pit" and then for once and for all we'd be rid of them. No where in the word of God is man given authority to send demons to the pit -- However much we'd like to. Will devils (demons, unclean spirits, fallen angels) leave an individual when commanded to by someone without true authority to do so? The answer is "yes" but only when it's to their advantage after which time, of course; they're free to return. So in the case of "Ralph" and his Demon Entertainment Hour what would it be that would provide an "advantage" for them? Well, Ralph's latest ploy is telling audiences that "Christians" can be demon possessed and that riding "Christians" of demons has now become his number one objective. Well Ralph, if you're out there reading this, let me tell you that which the word of God has to say about this, your claim; "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." (1 John 4:4)

The really unfortunate thing about all this, is that there are so many that are "calling themselves Christians" that are no more Christians than the Satanist at the local tattoo parlor. If you have said the prayer listed on the pages of this web site and more importantly meant it with all your heart -- YOU ARE SAVED and no devil this side of Hell can take that away from you. Can people like Ralph put doubt in your mind about whether or not you then may also be demonically possessed? Sure, what better way for Satan to still make you doubt your salvation!

The Holy Spirit, God Almighty will not dwell in you with some punk demon! No, that just won't happen. Sorry Ralph, you need to go back to your small mansion on the hill and making lots of money by putting fear into folks that don't know any better.

Now this is a prime example of what demons might do when it is NOT to their advantage to play long with "The Exorcist". The book of Acts, Chapter 19, records the attempt of the seven sons of Sceva, (who were "vagabond Jews, exorcists"), to exercise spiritual authority over Satan and evil spirits. When their own attempts at exorcism failed, they then tried to use authority they did not possess.

"We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth."
But the evil spirit "not moved" by all of this replied;

"Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded."
The term "Exorcist" is not of God. It was a term used by certain Jews who were involved in the occult -- the Kabbalah. If you feel that there are "spiritual problems" in your life, ANY TRUE child of God can command them to leave in Jesus' name and they will have no choice but to comply with that command. If you feel that you are being bothered by demons after you have given your heart to the Lord, YOU can command them to depart from your presence as at that point they have no right to be in you but they can still try to make you "think" (external influence) that you are still under their domination. Stay in the word of God. Read the Bible daily, even if it's no more than a chapter each day before you go to bed.

There have been many cases of "self-deliverance" by simply confessing all your known sins to God, "binding" all unclean spirits, and then commanding them to leave in Jesus' name, and then finally; praying for salvation and meaning it with all your heart! (See our "The Only Doorway" page.)

Is that all there is to it? Yes. Jesus said that He came to set the captives free... and that's all there is to it!
