LIFE,EDUCATION,& BACKGROUND
England's greatest poet and playwright was born at Stratford-upon-Avon in April, 1564. In the country of Warwickshire, England. He was the first and eldest son of John and Mary. At the age of 18 he married Anne Hathaway. They had three children. Their names were Judith, Hamnet, and Susanna. He went to London and was an errand boy at the theatre. In 1592 he was established as an actor and playwright. He was part owner of Lord Chamberlain's men. At age 32 he was known as a great writer of tragedy and comedy. In 1599, he was in a new theatre called the Globe. Some of the plays there were Julius Caeser, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Macbeth. After Queen Elizabeth died, King James was the king. The Chamberlain's men became the King's Men. They performed alot of dramas at court. Shakespeare wrote 37 dramas and tragedys. He retired in his mid forties and returned to Stratford. He was prosperous and was an honored citizen. He died on April 23, 1616 in Stratford. He was buried in the Church of the Holy Trinity, the same church where he was baptized.
