Distribution: In the east and south of Africa on open grassland and flood plains.
Physical Description: Big powerful hind legs for jumping and hopping and curved claws for digging burrows.
Diet: Vegetation grasses, leaves, nuts, corn and seeds and ocianally shoots and maize. They usually forage in groups of eight
or nine and won't go more than 400 yards from their burrow.
Offspring: They breed each year and give birth to one or two leverets.
Lifespan: 14 years in captivity
Threats: Being hunted for their fur and for ruining crops and they have lack of food
Predators: Predators include wild cats, jackals, large owls, mongooses and genets.
