About the Doula:
Hello! My name is Corey Strouse and I am the owner of Chrysalis Birth and Postpartum Doula Services.
My business is located in Centre County, PA and serves clients in State College, Altoona, Clearfield and surrounding
areas. I received my formal Doulas of North America (DONA) birth doula training in Harrisburg, PA were it was my privilege
to attend a training taught by one of the founders of DONA, Penny Simkin. I am a certified birth doula through Doulas of North America, a certified postpartum doula through Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), and a trained Childbirth Educator. I am a member of Doulas of North America
(DONA), Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), The Pennsylvania Mid-State Lactation Coalition
(PA-MILC, and Central Pennsylvania Gentle Birth Advocates. I carry attachment parenting products through UBB's Natural Family Boutique.
I am the mother of three wonderful children. Though all three of my births were nonmedicated hospital
deliveries, each was unique and challenging in its own way. As a birth doula, I will support you and your partner throughout
your own unique birth experience. Every woman is different, every labor is different, every birth is different. I learn
something new at every birth I attend and use the knowledge that I gain to better support each new couple through their own
birth journey. I bring the wisdom of my own births, the wisdom I have received from supporting birthing women, and the wisdom my many
doula teachers and mentors have generously shared with me, to every birth that I attend in order to help you achieve
your own best possible birth experience. As a Postpartum Doula, I strive to make your home a peaceful place during the early
days of family bonding. I "mother the mother" so she is able to focus all of her attention on the new baby. Please
