Earth Day

 

We hope everyone is enjoying the flower your children planted in honor of Earth Day.  In a tradition that has gone on for many years, the children at both schools planted marigolds provided by the PTO.  The plantings took place on April 24th and 25th.  Thanks to those who helped with the plantings!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

School Board Minutes

 

We apologize for not getting the school board minutes out to people like we had planned.  We had problems getting a system in place to receive the minutes in a timely fashion.  The good news is that the minutes are now on the school district web site at http://www.octorara.k12.pa.us/minutes.php.

 

 

 

 

 

Field Day

 

 

 

 

 

 

Field Day will be held on Wed., June 4, 2003 at the Primary Learning Center.  It will be held on Friday, June 6, 2003 at the Elementary School.  Volunteers are needed on both dates to help with the field day activities.   It’s a great time!

 

 

Book Fair

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once again, the PTO sponsored a ‘Buy One, Get One Free’ Scholastic Book sale for the spring.  This is always a favorite of the kids (and parents).  Over 1,000 books were gotten free, with the purchase of another book.  That’s a lot of reading for the summer!  Look for our regular book fair in the fall!

 

 

Family Programs

Thanks to Cindy Barker for chairing Family Programs this year.  There were two successful programs this spring.  The first was Family Bingo on March 7, 2003.  There were 280 participants with 250 cans of food being donated to the Parkesburg Food Cupboard.  On March 4, 2003, Eric Paul, Magician, entertained a crowd of enthusiastic children with his tricks.  After the show, the children were treated to balloon art.
