Living Large Dances
As some of you may know, I have a great passion for dancing and for good music. And as some of you may also know, as a woman of size, I also have a great passion for the size acceptance movement and size friendly environments. So what is more natural than for me to combine these two great passions...!!!...
So in October 2002 I began organizing dances for women and men of size, as well as for their friends, supporters, and admirers. Anyone who supports people of size, the size acceptance movement, size friendly environments,... and who just wants to feel welcome and comfortable while they dance, mingle with friends, and have fun... is invited to these dances. These dances will incorporate some of the core beliefs I now have about what LIVING LARGE can really mean for people of size. Included in my beliefs are the concepts of fun, joy, respect, safety, comfort, acceptance, support, empowerment, freedom, self esteem, dignity, movement, being affordable and being easily accessible.
... In keeping to my beliefs, I carefully select the places where I organize the dances. I choose large private rooms with plenty of good armless chairs... large dance floors...ample free parking with handicapped parking spaces... size friendly locations with respectful staff and management.
