Ron Carter
Ronald Carter Performance Artist is a native of Philadelphia and a US Air Force Vietnam Era Veteran. Through poetry, storytelling, drama, music, and visual art, he explores the economic-social-political venues and avenues of humanity.
As a interdisciplinary cultural enrichment artist, Ron has much experienced to share as a poet, musician and storyteller!

* Studied trumpet and music theory in the Philadelphia school system/private lessons at Wurlitzer music/private lessons at Eloise Stone Music School/Community College of Philadelphia.
* Studied Afro-Cuban and African drumming/Poetry at Temple University /
Pan African Studies Community Education Program.
* Co-founder of Spoke”N Weal a Performance Art and Literary Group.
* Founder of “Voices Of Drums”/Ron’s Workshop, African American Drumming Ensemble
* Facilitator of poetry-storytelling-African American drumming work shops.
* Appeared in a 2001 PBS Documentary, Literacy Link, GED CONNECTION, PROGRAM 14: Poetry, Produced By Kentucky Network; Language Arts.
* Wade Cable TV Station 66, INNER CITY in 2000.
* Judge for the RUSSELL SIMMON’S 2000 DEF POETRY JAM TOUR IN PHILADELPHIA.
* Publisher/editor/writer for Ron’sWorkshop a literary news letter in 1998.
