The Daytona Beach Thunder moved to the WIFL after a losing season in the AIFL. The team, unfortunately, continued to be the hardluck kids of indoor football, losing five games by ten points or less. Former AFL star Barry Wagner played eleven games with the team and the Thunder ended the season on a winning note, defeating Columbus on the road 52-40.
