The Houston Stallions were the third, and first successful, at bringing the SIFL to the Houston area. The team played at the Katy Copperheads old home and quickly rose to the attention of SIFL fans all over. Former af2 veteran Robert Kent quarterbacked the team to an unbeaten regular season, throwing for 2,215 yards, 52 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Indoor veterans Kenyada Tatum and Timon Marshall combined to catch 34 scores and racked up 1,237 yards. The team allowed just six sacks all year, while holding opponents to a 46% scoring percentage inside the red zone. Of the four teams who the Stallions faced on the year, the Louisiana Swashbucklers challenged Houston the most in their final two regular season games. A failed two point conversion attempt gave the Stallions a 40-38 victory and perfect regular season. A failed two point try also gave Houston a 41-40 win at Corpus Christi. The playoffs opened with another visit by Rio Grande Valley, in which the the Magic could have ended the game with four seconds left. However, a chip-shot field goal from 18 yards out went wide right, which left one second for Houston. Houston successfully converted the 44 yard field goal to win as time expired, 65-62. In the second round, the Stallions met the Swashbucklers for the third time in four weeks. This time, Louisiana bested Houston 56-41.
