Gate-9 is the name of a group of survivors that took refuse in a subway tunnel haven, called Gate-9.

These survivors had a strange metabolic reaction to both the radiation and a chemical agent called Cyaneca. The reaction left them mutated in the oddest of ways. Some grew wings, others sharp claws. Some didn't seem to have a change in their physical appearence at all, but gained control over fire, or lightning. A few others seem to have changed considerably, resembling insects or other animals more than humans.

Gate-9 looks for answers to their changes, as well as a cure. While their advesaries seem to look more for revenge and power. Their government wants to keep this quiet, they want them all dead.
