The Grave of Corporal Oliver McFadden, Company I, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves". He enlisted on August 13th 1861. On September 8th he moved with the Regiment to Washington D.C. for the defences of the Capital against possible Rebel Invasion. The 23rd was encamped at "The Queen Farm" owned by Jacob Queen and they made Camp Graham thier home. Typhoid Fever broke out in November and December of 61 and over fifty men of the unit died forcing them to move to higher ground near Bladensburg, MD. There they established Camp Clark . He was wounded at the Battle of Cold Harbor on June 1st 1864. He served his three year enlistment and was mustered out of service on September 8th 1864. He is buried in Marietta Cemetery in Marietta,PA.
The Grave of Private Cyrus Stillwell, Company H, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves". He was drafted on July 13th 1863. He was transfered ot the 82nd PA, Company E on September 9th 1864 and remained with them until May 23rd 1865 when he was mustered out of Service.
The Grave of Private Crandall H. Wilcox, Company L, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves" and Company D, 61st PA Vols. Crandall was born on May 12th 1843 in Luzerne County PA. He enlisted on September 1st 1861. On September 8th he moved with the Regiment to Washington D.C. for the defences of the Capital against possible Rebel Invasion. The 23rd was encamped at "The Queen Farm" owned by Jacob Queen and they made Camp Graham thier home. Typhoid Fever broke out in November and December of 61 and over fifty men of the unit died forcing them to move to higher ground near Bladensburg, MD. There they established Camp Clark . In March of 1862 Four Companies of the 23rd PA were transfered to fill the ranks of the 61st PA Volunteers including Company L. Crandall was killed at the Battle of Spottsylvania Court House on May 10th 1864. He is buried at Scott Cemetery in Luzerne County PA.
The Grave of Private John W. Hay, Company L, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves" and Company D, 61st PA Vols. He enlisted on September 1st 1861. On September 8th he moved with the Regiment to Washington D.C. for the defences of the Capital against possible Rebel Invasion. The 23rd was encamped at "The Queen Farm" owned by Jacob Queen and they made Camp Graham thier home. Typhoid Fever broke out in November and December of 61 and over fifty men of the unit died forcing them to move to higher ground near Bladensburg, MD. There they established Camp Clark . He died as a result of his wounds suffered at Spottsylvania Court House. He passed on August 8th 1864 and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Section 13, Site 7397, Grave 1.

On September 8th he moved with the Regiment to Washington D.C. for the defences of the Capital against possible Rebel Invasion. The 23rd was encamped at "The Queen Farm" owned by Jacob Queen and they made Camp Graham thier home.
